Moana Beach reviews
39Ended up between Moana and Seaford and chose to eat at Deep Blue Cafe which turned out to be excellent
Can drive as close as possible to the beach if you have 4WD. Shallow beach for kids. Must visit beach if you are in Adelaide
The no-car zone to the left is great for the kids to run around, and it's always super peaceful
Was $8 for our car to drive along the beach. We had an ASX but there were some two wheel drive sedans, just be careful of the soft sand. Excellent beach, bring shade and plenty of sunscreen.
Nice spot to go for a walk or sit and look out over the ocean. Park right there for the kids and car park easy to get into.
Among the beaches I've been in South Australia, this one is interesting because there is a road down to beach for Campervan!
I wish there is also a nice walking trail like at Hallett Cove Beach.
Cars are allowed on Moana beach from the surf life saving club up to the bollards.
There is a pedestrian only area to the south of the bollards and at the other end, north of the beach on-ramp at the SLSC.
I love love love this little beach. Split in half with a 4WD and no vehicle section, and dogs are allowed. Makes for a perfect weekend camp or a quick beach drive.
A clean beach that is popular with walkers/runners in the mornings and those exercising their dogs. It makes for an interesting walk with limestone cliffs at one end and the hills that hug the southern coastline grandoise at sun set.
The beach sand is unique to Moana compared with others but the surf is generally flat - it needs a good southern swell to stir it up. I was surprised to see so many on stand up paddle boards (SUP's) but this makes sense considering how flat the surf can be.
Across the road are a few coffee shops and eateries. Theres a public toilet on top of the hill overlooking the beach and the only place I could find a tap to wash my feet (the beach needs more public shower/taps).
Vehicles can drive on the beach for free all year round, except when the ramps are monitored Dec - March. Here you'll need a beach permit or pay $8 at the ramp.
Like most southern beaches it can get busy in Summer.
Fun beach to drive your car on.
Take the family for a swim and a picnic by the waterside.
Cafe and caravan park near by within close proximity.
A stunning stretch of coastline with bright red cliffs on one side, and gently lapping waves on the other. I walk my dog here daily, and am always greeted by friendly faces, fresh air, and the odd seal, sting rays or pod of dolphins.
Beautiful, flat and clean beach to go with the family. Drive right up to the shore, set up a beach chair and soak up the sun.
Not too busy. The nice thing is you can bring your vehicle down to the beach if it’s a 4WD. The beach has stones. That’s the unique part compared with the rest of the beaches. The view is beautiful and unique. Dog friendly. Has shower facilities.
Beautiful beach, great for seaglass collectors. The rock pools are great for kids to explore and learn about the creatures that live in them.
Great beach! Water clear and sand is lovely. Quite calm and safe waters. Perfect for little kiddies. Can get quite rocky after a storm but eventually washes away. Lots of people walking on beach and esplanade but still so much room to yourself. Excellent cafes and plenty of public toilets nearby
Went for a really nice romantic date here with my partner yesterday.drove onto the beach and sat in the boot of the suv with the seats folded away, blankets, pillows, fairy lights, laptop for a movie and food like strawberries with chocolate, sushi, brownies ect.it was absolutely perfect
Shhh.don't tell anyone. This place is a surfers dream in SA and we don't want too many people knowing. ️ Yes there are actually surfing beaches in SA. Southport, Moana and middlei are all worth checking out. This was me post surf. In a beach to myself. Even better.
Awesome beach to swim, drive on, and even surf occasionally when the waves are there. Definitely worth checking out.
Flat beach with nice views. You can drive your car on the beach if you are feeling brave or bring your dog for a walk
