I never thought that I could enjoy working out in a gym one day but this team, the community and this place is absolutely amazing. Josh and his team is pushing me to reach my goals every day and that is exactly what I need. I already feel the improvement in my training outside of the gym which is fantastic. The support is awesome and I am grateful to be part of this.:)

Josh nothing short of incredible. I have had the pleasure of working with him for a number of years in both a professional and personal setting.

Professionally, his knowledge and passion for injury prevention and recovery particularly in women’s sport is unparalleled.

Personally he supported me through my recovery of a fractured ankle and gave me the confidence to return to play.

I consider Josh a close friend and recommend him to anyone looking for to improve their health and fitness

I’ve been at Mitise for about 8months now and can not recommend Josh and his team enough. The programs are engaging, tailored to meet your goals with a focus on injury prevention which has been a huge help to myself. The team are so supportive, knowledgeable, and have created a wonderful community that feels like more than a gym.

This has been the best gym experience I have ever had. It’s a very supportive environment that has helped me reach my strength training goals. I have never been able to stick to a program this long, and that is all thanks to Josh and his team. Having that ongoing help with my technique and program tailored to me has been worth every penny.

A Huge credit to Josh and the rest of the team at Mitise, for creating a safe space and a highly motivating environment without a doubt!
Josh and the team have been very supportive and helpful and I feel very comfortable getting out of my comfort zone to try different level of workouts.
I have been training at Mitise almost 2 years now, and there’s no turning back

I have been training at mitise for over 4 years now, and it is hands down the best environment to be training in. I don’t even want to call it a gym since that it totally underrepresenting the kind of environment that Josh and his team have created.
There’s a focus on “person first” that is palatable through every interaction! The team know every member, their goals, circumstances, training preferences etc. If you want to be left alone they’ll respect that, but if you’re up for a chat and lighter session then that’s supported, too.
Members are all super friendly and supportive. It’s not an intimidating space at all; everyone is at a different level, but there’s no judgement from anyone.
Also -importantly- no posing, influencers or shirt-off training;).
I could go on and on but have hopefully made my point that this is an amazing gym that is without comparison!

Mitise Fitness is a special place. A gym as much about connecting community and valuing the people who come through its doors, as it is about developing strength and wellbeing. Thank you Escola de Samba and Josh and the Mitise team for collaborating to create the Samba Strength program! Being involved in this program has built my personal and physical strength. When I started out I wasn't in a great headspace - I felt shy and unsure - but knew I would benefit from a fitness program. The friendly staff at Mitise and their considered, respectful approach to meeting me where I was at ushered me into a place of being stronger and feeling more self-assured. I am inspired to be in a space where people can be themselves and work towards their personal goals alongside one another. I look forward to continuing the journey of finding greater strength - physical, personal and community - with Mitise Fitness!

4 months working towards my personal fitness goals at Mitise health & fitness has been an incredible experience! Thank you Josh for your professionalism, time and mentorship to help me improve my fitness goals. The improvement in such little time has been amazing, from being dependent on my walking stick to barely using it at all and so much more.

I look forward to continuing to smashing more goals in such a vibrant and welcoming gym setting.

I have done two of the womens strength programs and loved every minute of them both!
Being brand new to any kind of weights and strength workouts I was a bit nervous to start but as soon as I walked in I felt very welcomed and comfortable. Josh is so supportive every step of the way and makes you feel right at home. It becomes like a little family in the gym which I love!

I have learnt so much just from these two programs. I was always too scared to walk into the weights section of a gym by myself not knowing the right exercises to do and now I feel very confident to do so with all the knowledge I have gained from him.

I can’t wait to do another strength program 10/10 would recommend!

Where to begin! Josh and all the trainers at Mitise are all very welcoming to all who come through the doors. I have known and trained with Josh and Mitise on and off since 2009 but I keep coming back! When training with Josh it is not just about getting as sweaty as possible! It is about the goals you are wanting to achieve in a wholistic manor! Taking into account not just the body but the mind and knowing that there are factors outside the gym that affect people's performance in the gym and taking those into account.so if you need a more gentle approach that day! That's what you will get! All while on track to attain your goal! Always!
I could go on about how welcoming and inclusive Mitise is all day! And about how adaptive Josh is to your training needs on any given day! But you should get in touch and find that out for yourself!
I could not recommend Josh and Mitise highly enough.
Thanks Josh for always being there when I keep coming back!

Around 5 months after having my ACL reconstruction my physio recommended I start training with Josh to complete my rehab and prepare myself to return to playing soccer. Josh was super helpful in identifying where I was at with my rehab and able to provide sport specific programs to guide me through my recovery. His style of coaching worked very well with my schedule as he provided me with well structured programs for me to complete on my own and was always available whenever I had any questions.

Josh is a super supportive coach and was really effective in pushing me out of my comfort zone throughout my rehab, which was so important in preparing me both mentally and physically to return to sport. I would recommend Josh to anyone returning to sport from an injury as well as those who are just looking to push themselves physically to the next level.

I'm a fish out of water when it comes to gym and fitness. Josh is an amazing trainer. He is patient, motivating and encouraging, above all, he creates a safe environment with no judgement for all. Best trainers and amazing facility.

Have been training with Josh for the past 2 months with my samba team for ‘Samba Strength’ and Josh (and the team) has not only been extremely welcoming and professional, he tailored a program specifically for our needs and pushes us every week while respecting everyone’s personal level and ability! Great place to train!

Training with Josh for 2 months has been immensely beneficial for my health and performance leading up to the soccer season. On the back of ankle issues in the previous season, Josh's holistic approach has helped me improve my movement, balance, full body strength and power to get me feeling confident in my body going into the new season. Easygoing, insightful person to talk and train with. I would absolutely recommend him and his facility for anyone looking to return to sport or improve their performance (or both!). Thanks Josh!

As someone who is most certainly definitely not ever a gym-goer I actually love coming here. I don't like gyms or crowds, and will absolutely freak out in a gym setting but Josh has been ridiculously patient and accommodating with me. It's also nowhere near convenient for me to go yet I still do.

His knowledge and expertise is excellent, one of the best out there, but he also has a passion for it that doesn't exist in many trainers. There's no judgement, and you can just 'be'.

Quality > Quantity, 100%.

Top notch, 'good' guy (when he's not making you do single leg glute work)

I recently completed a six week female sports program. At the beginning of the program a survey was sent out asking what we hope to get out of it. What I had hoped to get out of the program I definitely got plus some. The professionalism and care that the trainers have in regards to everyone’s welfare and requirements is amazing. I cannot recommend Mitise Health and Fitness more if you are looking to improve your sport mindset and physical ability.

Josh is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable trainers I have ever met. I took part in a 6 week female development program and learnt so much in such little time. You feel so welcome and valued in the space created at Mitise. It is definitely one of the best experiences I have had at a gym learning so much and just enjoying working out. Not only do they tell you what the exercise is working they talk you through how to do it. The supportive and encouraging environment makes this gym so good. The knowledge Bryn and Josh have to run this female program and target the specific exercises to help with sport development and physical competencies is exceptional and your whole perspective of working out will change. You will do specific components such as agility, acceleration, strength etc that you can then work on to improve your own game. You will also do exercises to prevent injuries that are common and many strengthening exercises which will be extremely beneficial in your game. I could not recommend this gym enough.

Josh, Bryn and Em were great! Completed the Female Field Sport Program, not only did they help me get stronger but also explained the whole program why what I was doing in the gym would help me on the field.

Every trainer was extremely patient with me and catered to every skill/strength level, personalising exercises where needed. 100% recommend!

Training with Josh at Mitise has changed my entire perspective on injury prevention, management and the process of rehabilitation.
After rupturing my ACL almost 12 months ago I felt removed from my own usually active lifestyle, was unsure of what to do next, and overwhelmed at where to start after my surgery. From the moment I reached out to Josh I began to feel more confident in myself and my endeavour to return to contact sport.

Josh hasn’t just given me a program to do, he’s created a program that’s specific for my needs, that’s adaptable, and is something I can really engage with. I’m able to assess and evaluate my own movements better because I’m supported in an environment to learn as well as train.

I know the progress I’m making is more than just building strength back up in my knee or just physically - it’s the confidence I have now to return to sport and not be fearful of injuries; to know that I’m doing everything I can to navigate playing contact sport in a smarter and safer way.

As an amateur player I never imagined I would be able to return to competition in only 9 months, but with Josh’s support, programming, and the hard work we’ve put in over the last few months, I was able to.

What Josh has created at Mitise is something unique compared to other gyms or personal training I’ve experienced. Mitise is truly an extension of Josh - welcoming, vibrant and driven by community… Backed by a lot of knowledge and true passion for the industry.
