Mitchell Park Oval reviews
19 Accessible to all. Friendly bar and kitchen staff in Bistro, variety of meals and drinks. Schnitzel night Thursday with delicious toppers. Great view of oval and or indoor courts depending where you sit.
Community events throughout the week.
Organisational training was run here. On 1st floor over looking oval. Nice balcony, chairs super hard and uncomfortable. Lift works well, nice wide stairs. Bathrooms easy to use. Car park good.
Our old stomping ground.
Still go there when in Adelaide.
Great oval and grassed area for dog exercise.
New community building so should be good for sporting people.
Took the dog for a walk there the other day and was very impressed with the new recreation centre. Oval lawns were well mantained and there were people of all sorts jogging and sitting in the park grounds. A cricket game was on and the sun was shining. It had a nice and relaxing summer vibe for a Tuesday evening.
The facilities here are excellent and it's si nice to have a small canteen available, however I think the staff manning the canteen could benefit from some customer service training, e.g please let me know my coffee is ready and don't leave it sitting on the bench around the corner and then tell me you "called out" a few times (with your quiet voice) when you're aware I'm in animated conversation with someone. Not too much to ask is it?
Excellent basketball courts with plenty of room between them for the watching spectators and players parents
Club rooms definitely smaller now the upgrades have been completed. Footy canteen staff are very polite and friendly, Could do with more available seats and shelter for footy spectators.
I grew up in quick road in the 70's when the small footy club was there. & FANTASTIC a lot of thought has gone into the design & layout. We were there 2 days after the opening for basketball. Hope to return soon.
Green grass with wonderful new facilities for many different sports groups. There is almost always a group of people using the oval and looking forward to having dinner at clubhouse one night.
This is a great park for walking with your dog with something for all the family.
All 4 sides are populated by mature gums providing shade to a path way surrounding the open grassed play areas.
The Southern side has a new play ground with picnic tables, shelter, Bbq, drinking fountains and park benches.
Northern side is the AFL oval and a Radio Controlled Car Race track.
Down the eastern side under the gums is a variety of fitness equipment for all ages.
In the middle will be car parking and the Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre still being redeveloped (nearly finished I hope).
We will definitely be back.
Nearly finished the huge upgraded building, should be excellent facilities when finished, should have:
* Two indoor courts for basketball, netball, volleyball and other recreation.
* Facilities for football, tennis and cricket
* A fitness area, change rooms, kiosk, expanded car parking
* A neighbourhood centre delivering a range of community programs.
* Facilities for the dog club.
Building under major construction & starting t take shape. Long way t go tho. There was dog event + training on reserve area on Quick road side & game of cricket on oval where one young lad bowled a hat trick + 1 so 4 outs in a row. Kids were ecstatic.
Decent park, hood playground for all ages. Seating to share with friends while you watch the kids. Parking available
Some nice shady seats under the gum trees, including an undercover picnic table. A bit less serene at the moment while the sports and community centre is under development.
If you are middle of the road type of person, Mitchell Park Oval is you.
It’s a semi decent park land, but it’s crying loudly in wasted potential. It’s got a little RC circuit in one corner, basketball hoop and cricket cage. They use to have pretty average tennis court but it’s now turned into more parking spaces.
It’s a decent place to kick the footy around but it can be ruined when dog owners don’t clean up their mess. The cricket cages are in dire need of fixing and the basketball hoop is on a small section of concrete.
Do see a lot of people training their dogs on weekend mornings and people in exercise groups on weekday early mornings. So might be something for you check out.
Well maintained facilities, safe and clean. Offers space for all kinds of sports and recreation. It includes, football and soccer field, tennis courts, children's playground and a community hall that can be rented
Good little park, seems to be sporting there fairly often, football oval, cricket pitch and also some cricket batting cages. In one corner of the park there is a RC track which looks well maintained. A good size kids playground with sun shades for summer. A walking path that goes around the outside and very basic workout equipment like a push up bar at different heights, no mechanized equipment like other parks which would be nice here and there is plenty of room for it.
Good climbing equipment but needs more shadecloth cover, far too hot for children in the heat. Need an automated toilet close to playground, other public toilets attached to clubrooms not always open.
With a new upgraded look. My kids love the sand pit. Great place for the kids with toilet and water facilities
