Minkarra Park reviews
25Maintained quite well, other users respected any dogs on leads that had not been released to run around freely, secure premises. Nice place to meet others. Could do with more seats.
Good place to bring your dog and the biggest of the only 3 enclosed dog parks in Onkaparinga Council areas.
New changes coming for 2023 with an upgrade.
Been here for over 9 years at the time of this review, spent a lot of my life at Minkarra, love it to the end and back
Great dog park, great skate park, great nature park and great playground
Good place to bring your dog and the biggest of the only 3 enclosed dog parks in Onkaparinga Council areas.
Great skatepark for any rider skater or bmx rider downside is the skateparks been resurfaced and it is slippery at times the big bowl is 9ft I believe and resurfaced quite a deep bowl too ride wouldn’t recommend anyone who’s not competent too drop that bowl being nearly 10ft and possibly slippery with the new surface
Bark chips as far as the eye can see in the dog area. I got one stuck through my shoe and it bled all over the place. Wasn’t willing to throw a ball for my dog in case she got injured. Terrible idea, grass would’ve been better
Great dog park. Big. Lots of shade.
Also really good skateboard area with a couple of pool scoops etc.
Playground, dog park, skate park, toilets, short and long bush walking trails, (connecting to Glenhuntly park and now right up to black Rd) plus big car park - what more could you want? !
Not a place to skate, but a concrete landscape where parents sit hypnotized by their phones while their toddlers crawl around, while packs of scooter-riders consume nearly all available surfaces. Originally built as a skatepark, now has been rendered by the local population-boom into a full-blown playground.
A great place if you simply need to get the kids out of the house, and into someone else's hair. It's a miracle not more injuries are caused by the mixture of toddlers, scooters and skateboards. Parents of scooter-riders are known for frequently calling the police because of the frustration their children causes the other users of the facility, after repeatedly asking them to simply look where they are going, not stand in the way, and allow other users to exist within the confines of the concrete gladiator-arena. Built with the best intentions, this "skatepark" is not suited at all for the current mixture of users, and it's desperately needs to be expanded to avoid serious injuries.
Good luck to you should you go there with the intentions of actually skating at the skatepark.
This park is awesome! The skate park especially! The skate park takes some getting used to but once you get a hold of the layout and a rough idea of the possible skating lines, this place becomes on heck of a place to ride! I've learnt so much in just a few hours skating here
All the transitions are painted in an incredibly slippery paint and are too tight. Wasn't worth the drive up there.
The playground itself isn't the most exciting ever, but there are swings and a small slide. It has one of those spinny things that no one on earth knows what the designer had in mind️.
All kids love the work out area just as much as the actual playground.
There are toilets, the skate park and the dog park as well as a huge bush area to explore.
Fantastic place for 10 minutes or 4 hours.
Amazing park hit a tre flip of the quarter pipe
Amazing smiths on the manny pad grinds well loved it!
Grandkids love going there. Close to home and they enjoy the playground and watching kids at the bike area.
The free exercise class that Onkaparinga council have here is really enjoyable.fresh air and a great instructor. The gym equipment great too. Well done to the council for providing exercise groups around Onkaparinga for people to enjoy
Early in the morning, the park is great... A friendly group of people and dogs, thoroughly recommended in the early mornings
Very Good night skate park, fully lit and has a bike path that runs along the side for dog walking also has a park for kids to play on
Has everything there for a good fun day out with the kids, it does however need a little upgrade of the skatepark
My pups favourite dog park, would be nice if they added a grass area as most of it is bark. There is a sand pit and some obstacles for the puppers. It does have a large nature reserve behind it and a skart park and playground for the kids. There are toilets and the council is planning on adding lights for night use sometime between now and Dec 2021. All of the dogs and people I have encountered have been very nice.
