Mid City Motel & Apartments reviews
30Room was clean and spacious. The heater didn't work properly so it was cold. The shower didn't have a screen so water sprayed all over the floor. It was a great location right in the centre of town. Food was within walking distance.
My room was spacious and clean
T3a and coffee supplied. Spacious room. Yes a bit out dated but very good value for money. I would book again. Close to hotel and supermarket.
Cheap and cheerful, the motel is located in the centre of town and is only 5-10mins walk to the heart of Mt Gambier. The room is very spacious, clean and comfortable. If you are looking for luxury, look again, but if you are just looking for a place to rest after a day exploring and don't mind retro vibes and furnishings, this is for you.
Broken cable, broken chair, smelly and dirty carpet, dated room, stinky room. Overall not a good experience apart from the location.
The owner was lovely and very helpful! The room was nice, clean and comfortable for our short trip. Exactly what we had hoped for and needed.
Awful experience. Strong moldy smell. Unbreathable smelly kitchen. Old and dirty furnitures. Rude and dodgy owner. Friendly lady staff
Good location close to shops. The bad things beds were hard pillows flat electric blankets didn't work

In a motel you’re really only expecting 3 things: comfy bed, hot shower, clean room. This place didn’t have any of them. The bed was super springy and dipping a lot in the middle. The shower was cold in the morning, lasting just long enough (about 30 seconds) for me to fully wet my hair and then be stuck with no options other than to dry off. Finally, while the room was clean-ish, it had a “not cared for” feel to it (little things like cutlery strewn in the cupboard, milk cups thrown and scattered in the fridge, etc).
In addition, little extras were disappointing. Not deal breakers, but disappointing. Reception was barely polite, let alone welcoming or friendly. Other than that, it’s always a bummer when the only window open directly onto passers by so you basically have no natural light OR no privacy.
GOOD THINGS: tv had the ability to sign in to Netflix. Not alot of motels seem to have this and it’s a huge perk for us.
Also, room was a good enough size for us. We’ve been in bigger, but this was comfortable enough in size. Finally, parking in front of the room is always nice.
Other Perks: strong wifi, decent kitchenette appliances, included a couch (not particularly comfy, but it’s nice to have a couch), good location.
The units are a bit dated, but very clean, and provide everything you need for your stay there. A full stove with oven and a microwave was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable and it was good to have an electric blanket on the bed.
Air conditioning was very effective, and once warmed up, the room maintained its temperature well.
The location is very central, you can walk to shops, pubs etc in just a few minutes.
I will definitely stay there the next time I travel to Mount Gambier
Very outdated, heater inadequate, mattress hard and uncomfortable, air conditioner kept going into fault mode when put on heat. Otherwise it had good hot water and close to pubs
Rooms are old and need to be updated but clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Check in with ease.
Great value, perfect for a stopover. Clean, friendly and fabulous 70s Retro charm. Thoroughly recommended.
Have always stayed at this motel in the past as it's a great location and was very clean and comfortable, unfortunately this time it had really declined. The carpet in the room was filthy, so much that my white socks were black when I took them off. Dirty wine glasses. Bed was so old and uncomfortable, dipped in the middle. Heating was noisy and would just stop and make a loud clicking noise. Will be looking at other accommodation next time we're in Mt Gambier
Really friendly lovely service. Room was very old and shabby. Dark and dusky smelling. Mattress was unbelievably uncomfortable!
Cheap to stay- so cant complain too much. Good location.
Our room was clean and tidy. It is an older establishment but kept in good condition. Even with tenants either side it was quiet. Easy walking distance to shopping, food, coffee shops and so on. The front office attendant was very friendly and most helpful. We were able to arrange a late checkout without any issues at all. Excellent value for money.
Great motel, it was quiet, it was cosy, an outlet near my bed would of been nice but I'm not complaining, the bed was good, I slept like a log and I love the small containers of milk they have stocked in their fridge.
Good place, in the heart of the city within walking distance to all you need. Kitchenette with pots and affordable stay. Thanks
Exceeded all my expectations for a motel and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Was perfectly located and loved the pillow menu of different pillows!
Amy and Leonie are angels. They bent over backwards for my elderly disabled mother and myself. With employees like that you wouldn't stay anywhere else. Central location and very clean and comfortable with everything you need, even a hairdryer which more expensive motel didn't have. I'll be back. Thanks girls x
