Meningie Waterfront Motel and Cafe reviews
32We were in need of a warm dry place for a night and stumbled across here. Beautiful views across the lake from our window. Yes the room is small BUT it’s got all we need:). Warm shower. Comfy bed. TV and free dvd library in reception. Laundry facilities. Perfect little overnight stop in for the price.
I had a great stay. My phone had come of my motorcycle on my way up from Victoria. I couldn't get into my phone to get my ticket for the 40th anniversary HOG rally combining Harley Davidson 120th anniversary. The staff helped me contact my girlfriend so I could get the ticket sent to the hotel and printed out ready for my ride.
Only a small room yet clean tidy quiet, comfortable bed and hot shower with good pressure.
Room very small with one chair and no table but lovely lake view, comfy bed and good airconditioner
Room very small. Very musty needed airing out. Clean great view of lake. My first stay was better when Lisa ran it she was very welcoming and friendly. New owners don't feel the same atmosphere as before. Next door was also noisy. Could not find a fed in town at 5.30 been on road for a long time. Just wanted a fed and a bed not a debate as I got at front desk. Why should I pay more for a family room when I'm not happy with service. You can't even get a meal. You advertise as a golden chain motel and your not. At least cover up sign for people.
Fabulous location on the edge of the lake. Called in to checkout accommodation and prices in preparation for a future visit!
Had a great view right from our bed of the lake was so peaceful! Small clean room with all your essentials. Not very sound proof tho could hear the person next door snoring and their alarm going off, but I would stay again it’s definitely the best place to stay when visiting Meningie. Also the workers are super friendly and welcoming!
Nice place, good size bar fridge, has a freezer that works. Comfortable bed, tv is in the room, also reverse cycle aircon. Enough PowerPoints to recharge your kit. Lovely lady there and they do Cook, you pick up, just as I like it. No extra charge!
Phenomenal! Lynn and Ralph are the most accommodating pair I have ever met. They went above and beyond at every turn. From generous portions sizes for hungry travellers, to offering to take our photo on the stunning wharf as keep sakes. Couldn’t recommend high enough!
What a wonderful and hospitable place to stay, right on the water of the beautiful Lake Albert and close to everything this wonderful town and region has to offer. The owner is generous and delightful and went out of her way to help me going over and above. Highly recommended!
We had a beautiful experience at the Motel. Lynn and Ralph were the most wonderful hosts. From the time we walked in till the time we leftwe were treated like family. Rooms clean, food delicious Highly recommended
A 2 day stay at this motel early january.friendly and informative owners made us most welcome.a most fabulous view over the lake and clean fresh rooms make this a great holiday stopover. 5star rating from thomas and margaret.
Clean and cell like but OK. Staff were friendly but just a bit out of their depth I think. $20 bucks for 3 pieces maybe 4 pieces of bacon toast and a couple of eggs I thought was a bit expensive. Had a lovely view of the road and parking area. Would I stay there again, no. The over all look gives a different impression to the reality. If your passing through and want a clean room for the night go for it, if your looking for something a little nicer give it a miss
Been staying here periodically for 20 odd years now and our visit for 2 nights last week was by far the best experience yet. Lynne and Ralph made it thoroughly enjoyable and no request was a problem. Cheers you two
Basic but very clean and comfortable rooms, and lovely staff. Literally on the waterfront of Lake Albert so the view is stunning.
What a great place to stay! Now under new management I couldn't have felt more welcome. Rooms are clean and tidy, great river views, very friendly staff and a great place to have a meal, very generous serves, you won't walk away hungry. Would highly recommend
Great Motel very clean good size room staff very helpful and accommodating strongly recommend
A great place to stay. Beautiful view across the lake from our room and great hosts. We will be staying here again.
What an awesome place to stay
My wife, M. I. L. & I stayed here on weekend 26/27 Nov 2022. The location was excellent for us We were going to "The Bend" to watch the ASBK championship & 50km from there is no problem.
We were going to arrive late Saturday night so communication to the hotel was no problem.
Upon arrival we were greeted with the main man & he was really easy to get along with. Had a bit of a joke/laugh with a few things & check in was done. We had room #1 with a Lake view.
The room had 1 X queen bed & two singles. Beds were comfortable & linen clean. A/C in the room operational, fridge cold as, &
toilet /Bathroom facilities in one room. Hot water on tap & sustains a long shower.
Decided to eat at the restaurant/cafe on site & that was a positive move. Good selection of beverages (Jim Beam pre mix main concern) & the restaurant looks out onto Lake Alexandrina.
Our order for Dinner consisted of: T-Bone Steak (beautifully cooked), Lamb Shank on a bed of mashed potato & Veg (again beautiful) & crumbed cutlets (superb). Excellent meals, promptly serviced.
Had breakfast there Sunday morning & it was also a great meal. It is very handy the restaurant is open for Breakfast as by the time we would have got to The Bend we would've been starving. Bacon & eggs all round & another good feed.
Late back from the track Sunday arvo so had dinner there again. Garlic & garlic cheesy bread, Lamb loin chops, Local Coorong mullet butterflied & crumbed.
I thoroughly recommend a stay at the Waterfront Hotel. The hotel definitely punches above its weight & the proprietors are super friendly & helpful
Great place new owners couldn't help me enough and the food was outstanding dinner and breakfast
