Super friendly hosts. Perfect spot for exploring the mountain bike trails. Thanks for making this adventure happen for us.

We were very comfortable on a powered, flat site. Cabins available. Unpowered bush sites across the creek were very inviting. We will be back!

It was a 42 degree day and too hot to set up camp so we were very grateful that Melrose Caravan park is pet friendly and had a spare cabin. Thank you that you fitted us in. Rgds Cathy

Just an overnight stop without a booking. Owner was happy to accommodate my van and recommended a tyre repairer who was also very accommodating to fix my puncture. Good facilities in the park, a bit dated, but that's a good thing. Shower curtains would stop water splashing into the changing section of shower cubicles. The very noisy, I assume, exhaust system of the ablutions block seems to switch off at 11pm which provides relief of the noise at night. Highly recommended park.

We have been to this park 3 times in the last year and loved it every time. The location and grounds are fabulous for camping on an unpowered site under beautiful big old trees full of birds. We were able to purchase wood for a lovely campfire under the stars and used their great laundry. The only thing that would make this park better is if they cleaned the toilets twice a day when school groups are present as they tend to get pretty grotty with the high useage. Thanks for a great park. We love it.

We stayed a couple of nights here and enjoyed the experience. Nice walks close by and good facilities.

The caravan park is at the bottom of Mount Remarkable, clean and easy to use facilities and lovely owners.

Beautiful park at the foot of Mount Remarkable. Friendly owners and the cabin was spotless. Shower water was only warmish but did the job.
Heaps of caravan sites nestled in amongst the trees and an excellent camping site across the creek. Gateway to all the mountain bike riding and walking trails.

Unpowered area is big, but if you are planning camping when there is an event in Melrose, make sure you arrive early. We almost didn’t get a spot for camping even booking it in advance.
This was the most noisy camping I have ever been. People were making noisy up to 4 am.
Amenities are terrible for unpowered sites. I happened to go to female toilets at the powered sites side early in the morning and was surprised with a woman and man entering the female toilet to shower together. No respect at all. It happened too early (7am ish) to contact someone from the office. For long weekend would be great if the office and staffs are available earlier and check the noisy at night. I do not recommend this place.

You genuinely owe it to yourself to book in for at least a few nights at Melrose Caravan Park.
New ownership since March '23 and they are doing a ripper job in an absolute beaut location.
Myself and my family stayed only one night, just needing a place to camp and we were blown away by the beauty of the spot and instantly regretted not staying longer or bringing mountain bikes!
Will be back, many thanks to the staff for making us feel only too welcome!

It is a nice location, but unfortunately, it just goes. DOWN HILL FROM THERE

The amenities and facilities are way out dated. It's almost sad

The bathrooms don't look like they have been updated since the 70s, and the camp kitchen is non-existent.

And the PRICES are just stupidity overpriced, $42 for an un allocated & and an unpowered site: - (you can get better deals on the YP & EP with power & sea views, you would have to be NUTS to pay there prices.

Such a special place. Travelling with a child and we booked a stopover for one night after spending some time at Wilpena Pound. One week later, we are still here!

Everything is within walking distance - bike tracks, walking paths and two small playgrounds. There's a bike pump track on-site too. The grounds are surrounded by beautiful trees and although the creek is dry, it's such a haven and is still green and quite lush. Camping at the base of Mount Remarkable is such a treat - I'd be happy to stay here for weeks!

The owners are fabulous - so welcoming and friendly - the best service I've ever received when camping. Nothing is too much trouble, they're kind and lovely people.

The amenities are clean, grounds are well kept and there's ample space between cabins and sites.

It's the perfect place for an active holiday, restful retreat - or a bit of both. Two pubs with good food, friendly locals and great bike trails!

Thank you so much, Julieanne and Mark. We are already looking forward to next time!

We stayed there in one of the ensuite chalets on our way from Adelaide to Perth. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a delightful quiet place to stay, and the chalet was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Price very reasonable. Certainly would stay there again!

Had a great extended overnight stay. Park is small but has everything you need. Ablutions are on the older side but very clean and heaps of hot water. Lovely lady in the office was happy to let us leave a bit later so we could ride the MTB trails in the morning as they were not busy. Short stroll to the pub and cafes.

We’ve been staying at Melrose for many years. It’s a great location and base to enjoy Mt Remarkable and walking or cycling trails, and close to walk around town or to the brewery. The only negative now is the price! Council have put the fees up to $47 night for a powered site which we felt was exorbitant given it’s a basic park with old amenities that haven’t changed in years. The old bunkhouse has been demolished and some new cabins have been built, but the powered sites shouldn’t be paying for the cabin upgrades.
We’ve travelled extensively and based on other parks rates and facilities, even with the amazing location it’s way over priced!
If you’re looking for a cheaper option, the Melrose Showground has sites for $30 per night powered/ $20 unpowered and has new amenities.

Awsome views from here, great trail access and the trails themselves are incredible. Had a couple nights here and there are trails for everyone. The bathrooms at this park are very clean too. There are basketball/tennis courts that you gotta pay for but are cheap anyways. There's a little cafe, grocery store and bike shop (which has super friendly staff. Helped me and my bike get back to working order). Very cosy little town.

One of the most friendliest people in town and easy going service with good standards of amenities provided in room.

Forgot the name of the owner lady and her partner who were very friendly with us. They gave us certain very good tips for the area and around and have brochures available at reception counter, which us extremely helpful.

We will return again and would love to stay in the same room.

Wish you luck and best wishes

Keep rocking guys.

Happy Day's

Way overpriced!

$40 per couple and an extra $10 per child for unpowered camping, and the last time we were there (on a long weekend) the grass was way overgrown and we were constantly worried about there being snakes & the small kids & pets were all playing nearby (safety standards are terrible)

And the amenities were disgusting (in camp ground) they were hot and wet and had a mouldy smell to them, we ended up just using the shower in the caravan park (over the creek) even then I felt like you were back in the 1980s

I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

Such a beautiful little spot. The grass is freshly maintained which is nice to put a tent on. Great spot for children and close to the playground. The folks in reception are friendly.
