Having high dental anxiety all my adult life I have avoided the dentist which has obviously led to a lot of dental issues. But using IV sedation is a life saver and Dr Alexander Lam is professional, patient and reassuring, making the experience as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend Dr Lam and having IV sedation if you have dental fears and anxiety.

Amazing staff and great environment. Kindest dentists with amazing nervous patient and children skills

As a person with heightened and extreme dentophobia, attending a dentist for anything whatsoever - even something as relatively mundane and innocuous as a routine checkup or cleaning - can be wrought with anxiety bordering on controlled hysteria for me. This is where the team at Melbourne Street Dental Surgery - part of Adelaide Family Dental - excel, and go way above what one expects from dental clinicians. I am a patient at both this clinic which is close to work, and the Dernancourt clinic which is close to home. The best of both worlds! Drs Alex Lam, Felicity Lam and Kevin Moon have all had the privilege of myself as their patient for several years now. My previous cancer treatments have also presented various dental related challenges to them. Be it a simple check up, a cleaning, filling, tooth extraction, IV sedation and surgery, or implants (they have treated me for all of these) - these three amazingly skilled individuals have treated me with kindness, professionalism, respect and technical adeptness - while always having my dentophobia and anxiety in the forefront of all they do. They are also wonderfully kindhearted people first and foremost. I have no hesitation in recommending anyone with dental needs to them - at either their Dernancourt or Melbourne St clinics where I've attended. Everyone there, from the friendly caring faces at the desk when you walk in, all have your well being as their priority. While I will never actually look forward to 'going to the dentist', I will always look forward to seeing Alex, Felicity and Kevin. "Now open wide and say 'aaahhh'".

The staff at the clinic all were so helpful. I had a toothache and was just travelling through to go back to tassie, i got a same day appt, super friendly receptionist and practice manager. Felicity was so professio al, caring and gentle! Highly recommend! Thank you!

I didn't think I'd ever leave a five star review for a dentist but this is by far the best experience I've had in the chair. As an 'anxious' dental patient with a gag reflex, I've put off a visit for a decade. After reading a number of reviews I'm so glad I chose Melbourne Street Family Dental. Dr Felicity Lam and her team have been patient, gentle *and* efficient, which I think is a pretty solid juggling act. Two visits down, one to go (fixing issues created by my previous dentist) and I'm actually looking forward to the next round to get my teeth back on track. Highly recommended if, like me, you're not especially fond of a trip to the dentist. Stop putting it off and get it done - it's not as hard as you think!
