Market Square Reserve reviews
22A perfect place for a picnic or BBQ with family and friends. Plenty of space for kids to enjoy themselves.
Massive open green park land alongside the Onkaparinga river in Old Noarlunga.
It has plenty of parking spaces around three sides of the reserve, but has been known to get very busy on a nice day.
There are toilets on the same side as the playground - which is pretty decent.
There are a few BBQs that are free to use, and a couple of undercover areas with table and benches. There are also other table and chairs around the reserve/park as well.
You have the option to head down to the river and feed the ducks. The river is also a good place to fish at or go kyaking. And our boys liked rolling down the green slope, also went on an adventure up the cliff side hill near by - not safe for littlies.
Speaking of, the actual playground is not fenced off even though the river is nearby so if that is an issue for you perhaps best to avoid.
Your kids can kick a ball, ride their scooters or skateboards along the path. There is also a boardwalk that goes along the river too.
On certain days you can buy a coffee across the road otherwise definitely bring your own food and drinks.
The space is occasionally used for markets as well, so when planning ahead for family events double check with council if not sure.
Also, a great place for weddings, with council permission.
I highly recommend this family play space.
Been here for many family gatherings. Great facilities outside and an excellent indoor venue for hire there too. Little ones love the play equipment and going down to see the ducks on the river.
It was very busy with multiple parties.
This is usually our first stop at Old Noarlunga with places to eat and walks nearby.
Beautiful park with everything you need. Nice playground. Plenty of grassed space. Some seating. BBQ's. Lots of wildlife and even the river
Lovely park with public toilets, Cafe across the road is nice. You need to keep a close eye on small children close to the river.

I highly recommend this family play space.
Great spot for the kids ~ grass area for ball sports, and playground equipment for both younger and older kids
Fantastic playground for kids. BBQ area, shelter, grassey areas. Great for family/ friends gatherings
My daughter's and I call this the duck park and have enjoyed picnics and playtime there for the past 16 years️
Nice park, good playground, was supposed to get shades over it in December 2020, but it's a few months behind, still no shades.
Also a great place to feed the ducks, my little one loves it.
I've coming to this place since I was a kid.
It's been a few years since I was here last but instant nostalgia today to feed the ducks.
I was with my client her mother her friend and her friends brother who is also a client of mine.
Great day.
Oh also people get proper food for the ducks not bread as it's not good for them.
Fantastic park, with plenty of space for parties.
The playground is so much fun for all ages.
There is toilets and the park is also close to the river, great to explore. My kids love it there.
Incredibly popular park from the looks of it. I got married here and luckily with booking the grounds through the council and the day in particular we chose it had no one there that wasn't meant to be. This is a really lovely area to relax by the river. Take the kids to play, or have a picnic. Love this place.
Great reserve for picnics with electric barbecues and toilets, playground, some shady trees and a great view of the river.
Beautiful serene space. Great for kids playground, picnics and bbqs and leisurely walks along the river. Say hi to the resident ducks or pelicans.
Market square is always very well maintained by the council. Great for adults and children.alike.
Lovely park, there is a few picnic tables and BBQs. A great playground for the kids and a big grassy area to play on. It's right next to the Onkaparinga river, so great for a walk and nice scenery. There is also toilets.
It's great to see that the reserve is still a great family barbecue place. Awesome atmosphere very peaceful even with a park full of happy families and all having a great time.
Great park and great facilities. Free BBQs available for public use. Only a couple of shade/shelters plus a table unsheltered. Be mindful even on a nice sunny day the wind can whip up the hill off the river and be quite chilly. Play equipment for the children and then take a walk down to the river edge to see the ducks and other river life.
