Majestic Old Lion Apartments

I stayed on the night of 30th November. The young man who checked me in was very unwell. He had glassy eyes and couldn’t stop wiping his nose with his hands. He touched the keys, my credit card, my phone. I had travelled alone in a car for 3 days prior, and was alone for 2 days after - I am fairly certain the terrible flu I got was from him.

I ended up being sick for weeks, it ruined my trip. Imagine paying over $200 per night for the reception staff at a hotel to come to work when they have the flu, and give it to guests.

The room itself was adequate, clean and in a good location. I won’t book again though, getting the flu from front desk makes it less than 1 star for me.

Great value for money, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is also great with good restaurants and parklands nearby.

Lovely little room but level of customer service is shocking! When we arrived they told us that there is a surcharge on the payment via debit card, even though no one told us that at booking (yes I read the whole email and T&C’s) and there was a great big sign saying there was a 1.5% surcharge on CREDIT card transactions. Good way to make some cash on the side me thinks.

Anyway, we think we left something in the room and called back a few hours later. We asked them to check the room and we received a call back to say they’d checked but not there. The girl didn’t sound like she understood what I was explaining we thought had been left. So I called back and spoke to someone else. I wasn’t rude, I simply said I felt as though the girl I had spoken to didn’t understand exactly what I was asking - well, this woman got very stroppy and got on the defensive telling me that she trusts her staff and she heard the phone call. I wasn’t accusing anyone of anything, simply asking someone to double check again as the item was valuable.

Nice room but definitely wouldn’t stay here again. Also the service we received in the Lion hotel restaurant was less than average too. Seems the group need to think about a change of staff with better attitudes in general.

Great place to stay. Clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The internet was included but it did fade in and out regularly. It worked though. The free CBD bus runs right outside the front door which is very convenient to go to the market or the Rundle Mall. Underground parking was $15/day but secure and good to keep the vehicle out of the hot sun. The kitchen was well equipped but no coffee maker. There were half a dozen coffee shops within a block though so a quality cup of coffee was only a few steps away. Highly recommended overall.

It was ok. Pretty disappointed I was travelling with my 4 year old and we were put in a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator -_-
Otherwise, it was neat and good location. But $250 P/n was overpriced in my opinion.

Late check-in was off-site so quiet inconvenient. Room was OK but looking quite tired. TV remote did not work; exhaust fan was noisy. Good location though.

We stayed for New Years and they were very accomodating, beautiful room and gardens. They actually had an event and closed off the street for live music and beverages out the front and fire works at the end of the road for the event! Couldn’t have been any better I will definitely recommend to everyone!

This place isn't 5 star but its got nice spacious rooms in a quiet end of North Adelaide. Would stay again

Great apartments and well priced. Loved our stay and would go back. Great facilities in room, very adequate for anyone wanting to stay near town.

Great value stay in a nice location. Our 3 bedroom apartment was comfortable for our family group and handy to have reasonably priced parking on site. Also loved being next door to the very good Lion pub and some other restaurants close by on Melbourne St. Bus stop for free bus route out front was a bonus. Would stay again.

Well appointed and comfortable. Needs a little maintenance on some things but overall not bad.

Nice apartments in a good location in North Adelaide. The staff were friendly, the room was quiet and very clean and comfortable. I will stay again.

We have stayed at Majestic Old Lion Apartments when we visit Adelaide. The place and amenities have always been well looked after. The rooms are very clean and staff are outstanding. To add, it is right in the heart of the city near shops and restaurants. It was close to the hospital and clinics which we visited a lot. Would highly recommend.

Very upset that the Old Lion cancelled our booking: 2 apartments, 4 middle aged couples, 2 weeks before arrival. No clear reason given, no apology. Lucky we found alternative accommodation, but now 1/2 by public transport instead of an easy 15 mins walk to Womadelaide. Will never recommend.

A beautiful place to stay with many places to dine within walking distance. A lovely leafy suburb to walk around.

Beautiful building, lovely clean and well maintained rooms with look out over the tree lined courtyard. Great for couples or families.

Spent the night days before SA's 7 day lockdown in June.
Apartments acceptable & ideal for base of operations

Generously sized. A bit dated internally and externally, but that happens. Certainly self contained, with a medium sized fridge, a cooktop, microwave, washing machine and dryer. Fantastic comfortable king bed, let down a bit by the average pillows. Brilliant location for access to the excellent Lion Hotel and other eating and drinking option along Melbourne St. Enjoyed our stay here.

Great hotel for price don't expect anything great but prefect for a night or 2 stay in a great location.
