Main Street Bakehouse / Clare bakery

Been calling in here for years when travelling through. Always was a busy, bright, vibrant place with shelves awash with bright, fresh produce and happy, friendly efficient staff.
Changed hands.
Now.a cold, dark, ashen cinder of it's former self.
Bring it back please.

Extremely rude. Asked if there was gluten free options, the girl was very nice and said she’d ask the other lady that worked there. Walked over and asked and this lady rudely and quite angrily said “I can’t guarantee anything will be gluten free! ”. The poor girl looked embarrassed that I’d heard her. The lady came over and told me herself. Ok mate, calm down. It doesn’t cost a thing to be polite.

Got a hotdog, im not fussy with food but couldnt eat it.it was probly the worst ive ever had.sausage was cold bacon was raw in it and raw onion. I always say if a shop cant be bothered making nice food then take it off the menu. 1 star only coz i had to. Shocking food i wouldnt go there again.cant wait till maccas and hungry jacks come to clare

Food was good but appeared very overpriced! Got one pumpkin and feta pasty, one plain sausage roll and a brandbury…cost us $17! That means either the sausage roll or the brandbury is $6.seems expensive.and no prices displayed, cash register hidden hmm

Coffee? Staff mask under there chins. Also they were being very loud. The same thing every time I go there. Food was ok. Coffee placed over the opposite side of the table where I was sitting. Had to reach over and get it. I was the only one at the table. The way it tasted I should have left it where it was put.

Unorganised resulting in longer wait time.
When i finaly got my Coffe it was not what i would call a good tasting coffee.
There are places that make decent tasting coffee. This is not one of them.

Plenty of selection. Great cakes and sweets, good coffee and ice cream. A nice place to dine in or take away. Friendly local staff.

Great food and good coffee local and fresh, the lamb roll with gravy and horseradish was to die for, my wife found the pie crust a little on the thick side but for local workers it would be fine. Wheel chair access reasonable parking available too. Up from Adelaide give it a go they like so many businesses need it.

Excellent food. Loved it so much had to make sure we came past again just eat here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Quick service.

Congratulations on a five star review. We stopped for simple pies and coffee and enjoyed a lovely interaction with your super friendly staff. Makes all the difference, let me tell you. Loved the Shiraz meat pie and Ned Kelly (with a whole egg baked into the mix). Coffees were on the money too. I'd go back just for the gorgeous smiles.:)

Was in there the other day but really only thought about it after we got back to our holiday cabin. I was charged $27 something for a Ned Kelly pie, normal pie, sausage roll and 2x 390ml Sprites. Is that right?
No FB Messenger response from the bakery. Service was fine and the food okay-ish. Seems very expensive to me and there's much better value for money at the Clare Hotel.

Note- eventually got a response from the bakery on Aug 17th. Pricing was apparently correct.

So much choice, lovely ladies.efficient, friendly, helpful. Great food and coffee. Worth a visit

I love this bakery. The staff are always friendly and accommodating no matter how busy. The food is fresh and delicious and the coffee yummy too! This is the place we go every time we visit Clare.

Maybe I'm out of touch, but $27.00 seems expensive for a pie, a cornish pasty, a muffin and 2 small coffees. That said, no complaints about the food or the coffees. Busy place, if u are eating there I suggest the back room because the main servery area is quite noisy.

Omg the best tasting and the size and filling the best iv had. Apricot and coconut slice to die for. My husband is still raving on our way home.

Very tasty and decent sized servings. Huge range on the menu. They had ran out of all the vegetarian option at the time which was a bit disappointing. No restrooms available.

Charged $29 for 1x pie, 1x pastie, 1x banana caramel pie, 1x bottle of fanta and 1x 600ml carton of iced coffee! $29! REALLY OVERPRICED. People serving seemed like they didn't want to help or even be there. DO NOT EAT HERE!
