Main Corner Complex / Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre reviews
26It's a great place to learn about the local area of Mount Gambier. Children will enjoy the various displays and movies inside the centre.
The children's activities were great for them to unwind before we attended the free screening of a volcano documentary. Enjoyed the exhibits and it was good to see local artists work available for sale in the gift shop. Some beautiful pieces there.
Loved the movie on Mt. Gambier.great effort to educate the current generation on the beginning of the place as we know it now.very informative.
Great free film on how Mount Gambier and Blue Lake was formed, lovely exhibits, very friendly helpful staff.
Great gallery. Very interesting having an artist in residence.
Thought Kirsten's art was amazing
The real attraction are the films of firstly aboriginal story of the volcanoes and second the brilliant technical insight to the volcanology of Mt Gambier.
Would not miss this amazing 2 films
Volcano movie is well worth one hour of watching the formations surrounding Mt Gambier, it's free!
Wow what an amazing place take the time and check it out.
The theatre is excellent and the art shows are extraordinary also stuff for the kids
Most stuff closed for changeover. They had a room with aboriginal art from the 90s which was cool!
Lady at front counter 10/10 would be friends with, she was kind af. Good selection in giftshop also. Managed to talk my GF into some art classes as well ;) sneaky.
We took a tour group here and all enjoyed the "Volcano" film shown here. Well worth going to see.
The Volcano movie was great and free, though you can make a donation at the door. Staff were also very cheerful which really adds to the good experience.
Definitely worth a visit for the short Volcano movie. Wonderful insight into the history of the region. Cave garden also right next door
The volcano movie that plays from 11am and 2pm is a must watch while you're around Mt Gambier. It goes on for 1 hour but I got to learn so much about the geographical structure and history of Mr Gambier, why there are so many lime stone caves, sink holes around this region, why the blue Lake is blue, why there so many interesting valleys and hills along Mt Napier.
Excellent. Was in the dress circle for the book launch of Victoria Purman's latest book The Woman's Pages.
Nice to be in a room where you could hear the speaker clearly and wasn't overheated.
The Riddoch gallery is a cultural gem with changing displays of contemporary and traditional art. What is truly incredible is that most exhibitions are free.
Great place to find out the history of the region and all the volcanic activity that happened here.
A good 1 hour show on how volcanoes shaped the landscape of this region. Good background before you head out to see the lakes. Educational and informative. Art gallery downstairs. Show is at 11 am and 1 pm.
Lovely venue, interesting and some very good artwork
Fantastic film on the forming of mount Gambier. Excellent PR lady on front desk.
The Main corner always looks amazing when I've been there and they have some quite interesting and intriguing displays that change regularly to keep it even more interesting and you can learn quite a lot from the displays.
