Lucias Pizza & Spaghetti Bar reviews
42Besides the price going up and not served any bread to scoop the remaining source - it's still a classic.
Had breakfast there on a Tuesday morning around 8am. Plenty of seating available and so many options for food. Alot of homemade food items and they look so tempting. Wanted a light meal and had homemade raisin toast and they were perfect with my piccolo. Very friendly staff and the vibe is homely, warm and comforting if you sit inside the restaurant.
Will return for lunch and dinner soon!
Solid place for lunch. Book if you don't want to wait. Marinara, Vongole and Bolognese for pasta, minestrone or bruschetta if you're not so hungry. The providore and charcuterie are also quite good. Come early for bread. The line for a panini (at the charcuterie) is worth it.
2nd time there in a month on a Friday night, Yes, had to wait in a Line, but the Lady who works there, is So Good at her job on seating People, before you know it your seated, the Food is delicious, excellent for People watching as you totally enjoy your food, Luv the Place.
Coffee and cake were terrific. For the retro vibe, great service and fabulous food check it out!
I booked a table last week, when arrived was told no booking under my name for 6 people, further checking had booked under Jan not Anne. That sorted proceeded to take us to my reservation, however was only a table for 4. Waitress disrupted table of 4 next to us by taking 2 of their chairs and crowded 6 chairs around a small table, saying that will have to do! We found a spare table and joined it with ours to make enough room for the 6 of us. We had to clean the dirty dishes of that one, waitress made no attempt to clean anything.
Long line up to order food in a very small area, a good half hour wait for our food.
My chicken salad was very basic, very dry chicken with half a lettuce with a bit of dressing drizzled over. Very slap dash, disappointing as had heard good things about Lucia's, won't rush back.
Really disappointing because I usually love this place.brought my family of 6 from overseas here for dinner. We arrived at 6pm and they were already sold out of the Friday night lasagne special. We ordered vegetarian lasagne and some pizzas which they said would be 20 minutes. 40 minutes later they came up and told us that they are out of vegetarian lasagne too.so disappointing because we are still waiting for food we don’t want after 1 hour. Your kitchen needs to communicate with your front of house staff taking orders and this is unacceptable.
Always fantastic to return to Lucia's. First came here in the 80's, with my parents, and it is still going strong. The interior is as I remember it as a child, though the sugar despensers and serviettes on the tables are gone - perhaps as a result of covid cleanliness requirements.
Today, I enjoyed Lasagne with their signature sauce, freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries and a cappuccino.
There was a delay in the arrival of the orange juice, but upon querying its whereabouts it promptly arrived.
The cappuccino on this occasion was different. Not different terrible, but different from how it has been. Lucia's coffee has been at the pinnacle of the best coffees in SA, but on this occasion I only felt welmed. A middling experience, I hope they return to their former glory.
I will return, such is the place Lucia's holds in my heart.
Great service and food was delicious glad a local friend recommended them, ill be back next time im in town
Always visit this little gem when in Adelaide for a bowl of pasta and a glass of vino. It never disappoints.
My sandwich was delicious! Alas, it wasn't the one I ordered, and I didn't find this out until I got home. Their ordering process (order in one room, pay in another, stand around vaguely with no receipt while sandwiches get made, hoping you're handed the correct one) could use some improvement. Luckily I wasn't allergic to any of the ingredients in my incorrect sandwich but people with food sensitivities should be on alert.
The place is crowded and there is no room to even sit on your chair comfortably. The staff are always rushing around with zero care towards the customer. The food is very below average - I paid $18 for a vegetarian pizza which was genuinely the size of crumpets! Don’t fall into this trap! The pasta is very very average. Please avoid this place. It’s not friendly, the workers are always rushing you to leave and the food is extremely below average.
Lucias is perfect to start the day with great coffee and a very good breakfast menu and love the produce you can purchase as the central market is fantastic
Beautiful, delicious, different, food and coffee perfecto! X
And great gluten free option
Great atmosphere, fast service, fantastic food. All round a great spot. Would definitely eat here whenever in town!
Amazing fresh pasta and delicious sauces, definitely a "must do" at the Adelaide Central Markets.
They cant even get a spagetti bolognese sauce right. Too watery.
Serving portions are NOT ok for a mains.
Not recommended.
Living in the city of Adelaide is a delight when you are close to the Central Market. Lucia’s was my go to place for Italian on a Saturday. The minestrone soup is sensational, benne benne!
Great Customer service
Price is average. (for me)
Pasta was ok, Steak was good, I like the hand cut chip.
The restaurant was not busy at a time,
but it took a long time for the food to come out. Not recommended for a quick meal
I always get the spaghetti bolognese and penne pesto for lunch to share with my partner. The service is friendly and quick. Love the location as you can take in the atmosphere of the markets. I remember coming here with my mum when I was really young and it has barely changed.
