Little Blue Lake reviews
17Little gem short drive out of town. Worth the drive because you can go right in for a swim.
A great place for a swim in warm weather. Natural sinkhole clear water and includes raft or steps to exit. No known facilities. A must see when in the area, large carpark adjoining
This small lake in southeastern South Australia sits in a sinkhole which may have began forming due to volcanic activity. It's located about 14km southwest of Mt Gambier and about 5km west of Mt Schank. There are steps down to a platform just above the water. There were scuba divers when I was there, but nobody swimming - probably too cold being early September.
I feel this is more aimed at divers. It didn't really wow me. We didn't jump in as it was freezing, but I guess if you want to swim and dive this is the place to be
Sign posted well, sturdy stairs, and deep blue sink-hole. Lacks anywhere to change into your swimmers and shade.
Sick swimming hole, with good cliff jumps of different heights into crystal blue water. Stairs lead down to a pontoon on the water.
This lake is no longer blue but everyone enjoyed swimming & jump off which made this place a main attraction especially during summertime!
I came here last year and this photo has been one of my favorites ever since, and I just thought, I need to share this with the world. I want to come back her to have a swim, at the time i couldn't due to an injury but I'm so keen to come back!
What a surprise. Make sure you go here, worth the drive. Great for a swim and has different heights to jump from. Everyone should jump from the cliff just to the right of the steps into the water. My kids were brave and jumped from the highest cliff on the opposite side. One of our favourite places.
Great spot to stop. Family friendly. Although the flies may test your nerve. Swimming hole is right below the carpark with easy stair access. If you have young kids you will need to keep a hold on them as it's a steep descent with no guard rails.
A must see if you’re in the area, bring your bathers if you’re keen to jump in, looked like a really fun day out, the lake is a sink hole with beautiful blue water which is a constant 12 degrees.
Amazing completely out of the way place! Such an unexpected body of water but an enjoyable 15 degrees water temp lots of fun and different places to jump off.
Most utterly disappointed. Green slimy water with a small swimming platform. Carpark was a complete rubbish tip. Rubbish in the lake as well as no picnic tables and a lack of surrounding trees make this a completely overrated swimming place. May as well go 10kms down the road to a lovely swimming beach.
Really fun place where you can jump off into the lake. It's a popular place but surprisingly isn't as busy as you would expect. We came twice during different peak times and it was fine to go for a swim without feeling cramped.
You can’t go wrong with free!
Cute place. Good parking and easy access into the water.
The lake was stunning blue colour and vast water collection. So serene natural to see the blue colour. Very good vantage and viewing points created with an under road walk through.also good information of the wonder was erected for viewers to see. Loved it and highly recommend it to go to Mt Gambier with the other natural wonders.
Little Blue Lake is a small lake that used to have crystal clear bluish water. However, due to excessive pollution in recent times, the lake water turned to a muddy green. The place looks creepy
