Kim Wang Asian Grocery reviews
31This supermarket charges an additional fee of 50 cents if your purchase is less than $10, and they always want cash, obviously to evade taxes.
You need to keep an eye out for the tills, we were charged for something we didn’t even purchase.
There are a lot of Chinese words written in there, but this is a terrible supermarket try to faking a Chinese supermarket by a Vietnamese? Owner, sell expired product and rude for Chinese costumer. If you got problem with Chinese people then why you open your store in China town for?
Old style Asian supermarket. Some good produce and products. Reasonable prices. Would give more stars if they did a renovation.
Good prices. The greens at the front of the shop (bok choy, Chinese broccoli etc) are usually as cheap as anywhere else in the market and half the price of coles or woollies. Great variety of ingredients, good place to shop.
Sale items are often out of date, so make sure you check
LOL~ I was going to buy four pigtails this morning. The staff said to me that he could help to cut each in half. He didn’t wait for my response and turned back to chop and pack the tails. Finally, when I got back home and found what was in the pack, two whole tails, and each of the other two tails missing half. What such stealing and cheating~~~
They don’t do returns or refunds. Even if you just bought a few hours ago and the package is still perfect and untouched. They will tell you Coles doesn’t return as well.: (
Bad attitude for those cashiers, they requested for checking my bags, and this was the 3rd time. It’s ok for checking, but after I know they just chose me to do and not the others.y? They already had the CCTV there, if they suspected me just have a look. I won’t go shopping in this disrespectful grocery again
I have just encountered your van driver, he extremely arrogant. If that is your standard I'm amazed your still in business
We are on holidays from Victoria and stopped by here for some of our favourite things to stock our hotel room. The kids also bought a drink each. When we got to the register the lady informed us that only one of the drinks was a special price as we'd bought two different types. We told her we knew and she said some people get it mixed up so she wanted to double check and then she gave us some pomegranates for free. Absolutely beautiful service and fairly well stocked, especially for dried goods.
I was very annoyed by my experience at this grocery store and the lady on the cash register was totally rude and obnoxious. I shall tell you what happened. I was looking for cloves, I found 500 g packets and they were $17.50 each.all were marked as $17.50 each. I went to the cash register to pay for them and she just said they are $19.50 each, and I said no, they are $17.50. She wouldn't hear of it so I left them there. I said in good faith they should sell them for what they are marked - no way from her - if everyone did this you wouldn't know what you were to pay for something until it went through the checkout - they missed out on a sale of $52.50 bad luck it will go to someone else who needs it more than them. Her attitude was disgusting for customer service!
Possibly the best stocked Chinese supermarket in Adelaide. I took an ingredients list for an exotic hot chilli oil into Wangs and found everything, and a lot else besides. Shredded dried fungi included. Aromas, colours, indecipherable labels, every conceivable sauce, powder, oil and noodle known to man, in a friendly, bustling market atmosphere. Delightful.
What I appreciate about Kim Wang is the friendly staff. Once at checkout the lady advised me to keep the dried shrimp I was purchasing in the fridge to keep it from going off. Another time when buying meat for BBQ pork the man kindly told me how to prepare the meat as he handed the cut to me.
They sell stuff without checking expire days, I bought a bag of tea from there which was expired and I had a diarrhoea because of it, went back, they didn’t care if you were ok, they just wanted money. Disrespectful store.
Love going in here, a very good selection of asian sauces, spices, pastas, biscuits, rice, fresh meats, vegetables, eggs & frozen foods.
I've been going to Kim Wang's occasionally for 10+ years for all my unusual Asian ingredients. Really good range.
This is our go-to Asian Grocery store in the Adelaide CBD. It sells a good range of fresh vegetables, fresh meats and non-perishable Asian Groceries.
EFT Post minimum $15, when another groceries mostly $10. Very hard if you want to buy only one or two things and you don't have cash.
Very unfriendly staff specially the female that looks/acts like the owner at check out counter: (
She should not deal with customers.
Huge range of products and fresh meats and vegetables. The staff are more than happy to share their knowledge of their products and ways to use and store them. Great job guys thanks heaps for all your help.
