Great store, reasonable prices. At the height of harvest we were sold grain at another store, with the assurance it was wheat, not screenings, and of course it was screenings- never go there again, so on recommendation of friends tried Keelans, and have never looked back. He who cannot be mentioned on Face Book has had a stroke, and could not lift a bag of wheat so they trotted it out to the car for him, no worries. Would recommend this store to older ppl and disabled due to their kindness and assistance, plus the quality of stock.
New info, Keelans will deliver. I also bought 6 fertile eggs for a broody silky here-$2 each. Due to hatch 27 or 28 Jan, see how we go. Lovely ppl.
Update, seven hatched from six eggs- so got twins in one egg, unfortunately mother hen killed four before I could stop her- now raising three lovely Dorking Chicks- really sweet natured. Staff at store gave us lots of helpful hints on how to raise the chicks ourselves. Lovely ppl, lovely service. UPDATE this store has changed hands and the ppl no longer sell fertile buff orpington eggs.the original owners have sold to others so no idea how it is now.

Have been a long time customer of Keelan's: Payneham Road, Newton and change of owner; but today experienced rudeness that others have mentioned. A genuine question was met with an extremely abrasive response by the owner. Am trusting a one off otherwise will be seeking my supplies elsewhere. Pity.

Excellent choice, everything you need for all pets, horses, chooks, livestock, etc's wellbeing, great stock levels, even had supplements suitable for my local magpies, great service and knowledge, highly recommend, can even purchase free range eggs

Got a wonderful chicken coup with excellent service and great quality. Item was delivered very quickly and the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable

Proper fodder place with a friendly rural atmosphere and hospitality. Hope it sticks around for years to come.

Throughly enjoy coming here! I’ve always enjoyed supporting small businesses and this is a business I’ll continue to support. The lady’s who own and work here are always joyful! Very child friendly. My daughter loves coming here to collect the chicken eggs and play with the day old chickens.

Marshella and her staff are warm, friendly and inclusive. Customers are made to feel welcome during their shopping experience in this store.
Not only is this welcoming atmosphere appealing, so too, is the new in-store layout and their quirky range. I have especially fallen in love with their toy section and their fresh eggs, not to mention the centrepiece, the meticulously restored horse carriage!

I've been here many times before and the gentleman at the time was very helpful. But today different story.lady at the counter was very rude.next time may be try to listen with a bit attention and don't jump into conclusions.

Went to buy a bale of Lucerne for the garden & found a gift for a toddler- who'd a thought? !

Always helpful. Close to the hills. Good supply of grains, fodder, and pet supplies. Always has good dry firewood. Friendly staff.
