Kazumi Ramen Norwood reviews
52A truely wonderful ramen bar. With their small menu, you can tell that love and time goes into their selection of broths, noodles and sides. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the ambiance was lovely. I will definitely be making this place a regular visit for me!
Top Ramen, gyoza, Karagge chicken, excellent service, clean, attentive staff, beer available- two types Japanese! However, still no provision for Gluten-free diners, do you not welcome the patronage of those who have dietary restrictions? If not why not?
We ordered the shoyu ramen and spicy ramen with agedashi tofu. The broths were fatty and not up to what we expected, the spicy ramen was oily, not spicy and and lacking flavours, adegashi tofu was made with normal tofu instead of the silken tofu so the flavours were strange. So far i wouldn't consider the spot "authentic" ramen, ambience was night and waiting time could get up to 25mins+
When the noodle was 13 15, I came a lot. Right now, one Tantanmian is 20. What happened? The flavour doesn’t change, can still refill the noodles. But it’s way too expensive just for a ramen.
Ive been here a few times and the flavour has always been good. This time the tan tan men broth was tasteless
Best ramen in Adelaide hands down. It’s hard to find a ramen place with good noodles and Kazumi have perfected that. Delicious chilli which you can mix into your shoyu ramen to give it a kick. It’s good to have a substitute to the traditional pork which is too heavy in my opinion.
Love their Ramen, friendly staff, place is small and seats are limited but its worth the wait.
This is how you do Japanese food - Yuki in the Hills, take notes.
Kazumi Ramen is a small, intimate restaurant that feels very authentic in its decor and design. Very similar to the ramen bars dotted throughout Japan, Kazumi has a warm and inviting ambience.
The menu is limited, and this is a good thing. What they do, they do very very well. Everything is very reasonablely priced and made extremely fresh to order. Our food came out in minutes and was piping hot and fresh.
Let's start with the ramen - superb. Nearly impossible to fault, the noodles are all hands made in house and are the perfect balance of chewy and soft. Cooked fresh to order, they are identical to ramen noodles you'd find at any good ramen bar in Japan. The broth was also fantastic - rich, umami and perfectly seasoned, I finished every drop. I even got another serving of fresh noodles completely free, just to finish off the broth.
The curry was delicious, with fresh fukijinzuki pickles and perfectly steamed sticky rice. The tofu was equally fabulous.
Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.
Overall, this is undoubtedly the best ramen you'll find in Adelaide. The menu is tight, well thought out and balanced. A must visit for anyone looking for authentic Japanese cuisine.
I went there with friends. The place is nice and cozy. The place is not too big, just a few tables. The price is quite expensive, i paid $19.xx for a bowl of rame, but on the menu its said $18. I ordered Hot Jigoku Ramen, not too spicy, i think they use sechuan pepper. The eggs and dumpling is good, for me its just like standard ramen, nothing special. I give 5 stars because of the service. They have good customer service. You can collect 10 stamp for free food
My favorite ramen place in Adelaide, well priced, consistently good and fast service. Nice to have a beef ramen when most do pork.
I took the xtra hot Ramen and I definitely got what i paid for. I enjoyed it, but I'd say I probably should have gone for something milder to understand the quality of the broth.
They do free refills for the noodles so that's awesome for someone with a big appetite like me.
Caution - it's cards only. No cash.
The food was fantastic delicious. I tried karage, wagyu, yakiniku all my fav! Food served really fast. The restaurant small but still cozy place.
No complaints in the service or food, however, the place was definitely packed and needed to wait outside until tables became available. It was a nice casual place to get ramen and would love to go again and try the unlimited ramen top-up that I heard about.
- Nice food
- Good service
- a little pricey (but definitely affordable and probably worth the money)
- wait time because the restaurant was full
Came in for their spicy challenge thing, brought in a bunch of friends to watch me suffer.unfortunately despite being on their website and taking up 1/6 of their menu at sitting, I find out during order that "my bosses don't want to do the challenge at the moment"
sucks because it was why we went out for food instead of going out.either way, what I settled on was delicious but at compromise to what I was after.so go for the menu and not additional gimmicks.
I absolutely love this place. We must have been 10 times already and each time is perfect. I think perhaps some people go expecting a pork based broth but this is entirely different. The beef broth is so savoury and slightly peppery. Noodles are slightly chewy and the serving is the perfect size. It bothers be that people have said it is too expensive. This is clearly a place where great time and skill have gone in to everything on the menu.
Loved the ramen, karaage chicken, boiled egg, and pickles. Ramen broth was flavoursome and nuanced, the noodles had great bite and favour, and the beef was tender and delicious. The beer collab with Barossa Brewery was also deliciously crisp and citrusy.
The service was quick and unintrusive.
What I’ve loved the most is reading the owner’s response to the one-star reviews. They seem to be more about the reviewers’ expectations not being met rather than any real shortcomings on the restaurant’s side. But I love the owner’s distain for some the unreasonable feedback. Keep it up!
This is not an authentic Japanese restaurant. First of all this place claims to use Wagyu Beef. The Beef I had for my Shiyo Ramen was tough and overcooked. The flavour in the beef very almost non existent - the meat tasted bland and I was disappointed. The side dish, gyoza was $9 - and I got 3x gyozas on the plate ($3 each, VERY EXPENSIVE). They were not Japanese style gyoza, but more Chinese styled dumplings. The flavour was ok, but the dumpling skins were thick. Overall if you are after a not so authentic Japanese cuisine, this place is alright. However I personally wouldn't recommend this place and revisit.
OH MY GOODNESS. Highly recommend, its delicious, the price is good cos it fills you uppp! And just all round great i'm going to get more stamps on my card! They do that fiery challenge thing too which is cool
We were unsure if the ramen was actually fresh it seemed a bit old. I had the steak ramen, I don't really know what to say but putting a chunk of over cooked steak in ramen and broth then charging $21 for it seems a bit excessive. Having been to Japan and eaten at a basic ramen eatery and paying little, then coming here to reminisce didn't really cut it for me. The wagyu steak ramen and mine had the same soup which seemed odd. Lastly the wagyu sliders had srambled egg with mayonnaise in the bao bun which was very strange. I can't say I'd recommend it. Unless you've never been to Japan and just want a different experience of another culture you know nothing about and assume this is what they eat.
Loved the ramen here. Great flavours and good size. Also really friendly and pretty quick service.
Left with a happy tummy.
Highly recommended.
