Kangaroo Island Living Honey reviews
34 I’d give more than 5 stars if I could - best family experience on KI. Such a lovely family business - they couldn’t have made our time here any better. We got to meet all of their dogs, feed their pet kangaroos and pat their goats. We even got to hold Spud the magpie and see a koala with its baby.
The honey tasting was great as was the coffee van. We bought some beautiful honey to take home, thank you for a wonderful time on your farm.
Where to start. My wife and I joined the Bee Keeping Experience and it was 100% the best experience we had in our week on Kangaroo Island. Shaun was such a fantastic tour guide - knowledgeable, funny and personable. I can't recommend this tour highly enough for anyone wanting to learn and really engage with an experience. We came away feeling like we'd gained a wealth of knowledge and seeing the full lifecycle of the bees inside the hive was absolutely amazing. Wow. Thanks to the team at Kangaroo Island Living Honey for making our last day on the island the most memorable one of all.
My partner and I attended the Beekeeping Experience hosted by Shawn recently, and we both came away with it being the highlight of our trip to KI! Shawn was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and went out of his way to accomodate everyone in the experience. If you are visiting the area I strongly recommend you take the time to go meet Shawn and learn more about the amazing work he is doing, and to learn more about the role of beekeepers! Even if you do not have time to do the Beekeeping Experience, visit the farm gate and shop, and support local! The honey is absolutely incredible, with the shop also having a comprehensive assortment of other items. We will be back!
Staff are keen to explain differences between their unique honey. The taste of the honey is fantastic and definitely worth buying. I also fed kangaroos which were surprisingly the only ones I saw on the island. Couldn't do the bee keeping tour as bee-keeper was not there. Nice experience.
Great people, great tours and experiences and so much knowledge between the keepers. Our kids love the kangaroos and getting in close with the bee hives.
Loved the tour, learned a lot about bees and how honey was made. Great quality and tasty products!
We visited 3 honey outlets on Kangaroo Island, but as far as we’re concerned, this is the only 1 worth visiting. The honey was pure & delicious, & this was the only place that offered us tasting without having to do a tour. We intended & did buy quite a bit of merchandise. Fantastic owners, who spent time explaining about their wonderful product, then we were taken outside to see their array of animals. Thankyou & we are thoroughly enjoy your amazing honey.
We went on the honey tour and it was so engaging and informative. It is a wonderful and ethical business that really seems to care about their bees and delicious honey!
Fantastic experience for which I would highly recommend! Shawn was excellent and has such a love and passion for what he does. The experience wasn't rushed at all, in fact he gave us the time to answer all our questions and we learnt so much. This was a truly memorable experience to see close hand the remarkable insects that bees are and the learn and appreciate their work. Thank you Shawn and your family for the work you do.
Fantastic intimate experience in a family run beehive farm. Educational and hands on learning about bees and production on natural raw honey. Suit up and have a close encounter with a hive and see the bees at work.
Must do if visiting KI. Thanks Sean and Anthea for having us today.
Excellent honey. Lovely couple running the business. Highly recommend the "tour"/talk. Really enjoyed our visit and our purchases.
My wife organised a private tour for my birthday as I have always been interested in apiculture. Shawn didn’t disappoint, his knowledge and enthusiasm for his bees shows. I would highly recommend a tour of his hives and learn how important bees are for the survival of the planet
Great place to visit. Did some research beforehand to work put the best Honey Farm to visit and decided on KI Living Honey as it promoted a more engaging experience then just a shop. So glad we visited. Was a fantastic afternoon and Sean was so engaging with all of us, sharing just some of his vast knowledge with us so we understood better, how bees work. Really has been a highlight of our stay
You need to Bee there, this is a great family run business, with great produce right where the product is processed.
Go on their tour, you will learn so much about bees and all that they do.
This place is great. We did the bee keeper experience which is exceptional. My 7 year old son later commented that this was his favourite experience on the island. Highly recommend this experience which I think is well worth the cost.
Shawn was a great host and we learnt a lot from this experience. Can't recommend enough, will definitely be back!
The bee experience was honestly the highlight of our trip and the owner was incredible in his hospitality.
Please visit and listen to the bee hive talk. So interesting and informative about the life of the bee family and production of honey. Then go into the shop and buy everything. The honey is so good for you. Pure honey. So yummy. Plus other useful worthy products. Worth a visit every day. Owners are lovely people. Plus the friendly dog. Please find out for yourself.
Don’t waste your time with any other hive on the Island, all you will get there are tacky gift shops. These people truly love Bees and their cheerful nature rubs right off on you. Absolutely do the Beekeeping Experience, it’s worth so much more than the cost. Having no interest, I only went to satisfy my partner, but that completely changed. I was in awe of them! I love Bees now. The presentation they give is gloriously ineffable, we were blown away. An absolute MUST.
Lovely people. We very rudely turned up when they were closed and doing a private tour for some friends, but they made us feel so welcome!
Definitely worth a visit during a trip to the island.
