Kangaroo Island Health Services

I am extremely grateful to the team at Kangaroo Island Health Services who were there for my wife and I (and daughter) during our recent stay on KI where some unexpected health issues arose. The staff, nurses and doctors very personable, patient and assuring. Thank you sincerely for your warmth and expertise and keep up the tremendous work:)

I just wanted to thank the amazing staff at the hospital. I had a fall on the first day of my holiday and unfortunately fractured my ankle. The staff were amazing -helpful, friendly and very efficient.

Posting a review because the previous review helped/encouraged us to go to this hospital as my partner injured her finger badly while closing the car door (yeah she was not at her best yesterday) and at first, we thought of doing the first aid and leave it under observation until we go back to Adelaide after a few days. But later in the evening, we had to find an emergency medical centre to do an x-ray and get it stitched. We totally hesitated to go to ED at first because our past experiences with Royal Adelaide and Flinders emergency where such cases are treated with a communist attitude and an 8-12 hour long waiting time. When we went to KI health services, the medical team were totally professional and super friendly, that we never felt like sitting inside a SA public hospital and we did leave the hospital in less than an hour. Since myself and kids were waiting outside in the car park due to covid situation, one of the nurses even came outside at the car park to update us about the situation inside because my partner can't ring or text with the injury. Thank you to the Doctor and nurses team at KIHS. We really appreciate your time and care. Thank you for saving our first KI trip!

Upon our visit to KI we unfortunately had to visit KI health services as my son had tripped and cut his chin. The nurses and Dr Lloyd were fantastic, showing great care and professionalism. Our son was at ease and a stressful time was made far easier by their compassion and care.

I was recently admitted to ki hospital with complications after knee surgery. The staff were amazing on all 3 shifts. I can not thank them enough for their awesome professional care

After falling very ill on a cruise ship got taken off the ship and ended up in Kangaroo Island Hospital. I can not speak highly enough of the staff.
This happened a year ago 2019 and when heard of the fires we are thinking of you all and hope you are all safe. Thinking of you all from New Zealand

All staff are very friendly and helpful. They save our baby who was rushed to the hospital midnight with breathing problems. We are so surprised that small hospital but very good services.

Waited for over 2hrs to be seen.people coming in after me and just because they were locals they went in first.the nurses are so rude and no one is helpful, can’t give an estimated time of how long you’ll be waiting but can stand there and talk for a 1/2 an hour about someone at drakes. I know it’s an island hospital but seriously?

Rudest staff I’ve ever come across. Waiting 2 hours to be seen. A lady approached me and says “earache” I stood and she said “OH NO STOP! Sit back down.can you hear me or are you deaf? Do I need to speak louder”
Honestly? Why did you even approach me.
I would rather die peacefully at home than attend this hospital. If I was being seen for free I would not mind this service as much, but paying $100+ is unacceptable.
Highly recommend the medical centre over this.
