Jollys Boathouse Restaurant ticked all the boxes;
engaging knowledgeable wait-staff, location/ambience, food full flavoured - ample portions. The Bruny Island Dark Ale was a hit as was the full flavoured coffee. I'd Highly recommend a visit

I’ve been calling and emailing for 2 weeks with no response. Clearly Jolly does not need a booking for 14 people

What a fabulous evening, excellent food, excellent service and a beautiful location what more could you want for a premium dining experience. A special place to have a special night.

Wow. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Food was divine, and service was to the highest standard. Ambience and setting are to die for. From the river view to the 1855 Bridge to the heated fireplace.

The front ofnhoise staff is so pleasant and accommodating from knowing the menu to the delivery. Thank you Gemma

Well done to the Jolleys Boathouse.

Picturesque spot for a nice and Jolley night out.
Do's:
- Oysters were incredible
- Get a window seat next to the river
Dont's:
- Parking a bit tricky

The food was okay. The wine was great! However, the service I got was not up to the mark. They missed one order. I reminded once in the middle of the meal, they said it's coming. However, it didn't. In the end, the manager went to check inside if the potatoes were ready, apparently it wasn't, so I just told them to delete it off my order. I hope they pay attention to the customers next time.

We were really disappointed with our meal last night 14/4/23. Very expensive for what was a lack lustre experience. Ordered tuna nori (the highlight), oysters, pork croquette, mains had duck and chicken with side of caramelised carrots. Mains had very little flavour. Sadly we won’t be returning.

Unfortunately this is no longer a fine dining restaurant - it was all just very average - despite the prices remaining at fine dining level. Everything was OK - and you are not paying for that. We were rushed through, pushed to look at and order deserts while still finishing our mains, the wait staff were young and completely inexperienced. Wouldn’t go back. Don’t waste your money.

Ate here before the Adelaide test match. The Chef’s tasting menu was exceptional and reasonably priced.

Doesn’t quite live up to the fine dining experience but friendly snd responsive front of house staff compensated.

Wow … wow … wow

Unmistakably one of the nicest dinners I’ve had at a restaurant in my 60 years

6 courses, each one original and so cleverly constructed and delicious

The service was a bench mark performance by the waiters

Sitting by the river taking in the view, ducks ambling along the grass, fading sunlight reflecting off the silky water surface

Perfect ambience

I’ll be back for next New Year’s Eve

6 out of 5 stars

It was that good

It was a great meal, the team go above and beyond to ensure that they only deliver the best of the best servings. It is also a great location, with friendly staff! The quality and taste of the food was above average.
I would recommend this restaurant.

We’ve been to Jolleys Boathouse on several occasions and have had wonderful experiences. Sat near the pier with great views it’s a lovely space. Unfortunately, our experience last night (04/01/2023) with international guests was very disappointing to say the least. Staff were aloof and their service was riddled with mistakes. They were unaware of what was available to order and what was not. We originally ordered four serves of the fish of the day. We were then later informed only three servings were available and re-ordered accordingly. Seconds later, another waiter approached to inform us there was not enough market fish, again. But this time only two servings were available. We then re-ordered, for the third time. The quality of food has dipped significantly since our last visit. Despite it being a colder day, flies also surrounded the restaurant and there was even a half-dead fly on our the table, which hadn’t been removed. Staff even had the audacity to ask for a tip at the end, to which we said NO.

Unbelievable - not again unless the standard improves or new ownership.

Suggest you don’t book for a special occasion.
This was one of our favourite fine dining restaurants since the 1990’s, so we chose it for our golden wedding. However, it was very disappointing - we chose the Chef’s menu which we had done so many times before.
2 things in particular show the lack of a proper food selection or adequate food for diners, i.e. 1 scallop between 2 people and similarly 1 beef rib between 2 people, the rib was meant to be a main!
I rang the manager before posting this review. I suggested no one would want to share 1 scallop between 2 people, but he said they had served over 50 Chef’s Menus that day and that no one else had complained. He went on to say modern diners’ have different expectations. I then asked him if he would be happy to share 1 scallop or 1 rib between 2 people and he said it was all personal choice.
After complaining on the night, they did try to make amends by halfling the total bill, plus providing another main as well as an extra dessert. So our bill including drinks, ended up being over $175 per person. Whilst this was appreciated it still spoilt our special anniversary dinner with our children coming from Malaysia and Melbourne for our anniversary.

This venue is just beautiful for a special occasion. It is the perfect spot to showcase Adelaide. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Food was amazing although a few dishes were not available. Service was extremely disappointing, apart from pouring our first drink we were left to look after ourselves for the rest of the evening. Restaurant was not busy. Waitress also needed a few tips on personal hygiene. Not what you would expect when you have paid over $200 for two people. Don’t think we will return.

I always enjoy Jolleys. I often wonder though if they need a business coach. They actually charge you on a sliding scale for gift vouchers. The lunacy of that is exacerbated by the fact that a $50 voucher costs $52 and for no more work a $400 voucher costs $416.
My Christmas vouchers will all be at more sensible restaurants. Jolleys clearly has too many customers.

Would highly recommend this establishment. Started off with a slight order mix up.however staff could not have been more accommodating than they were. 10+/10 on how they quickly they rectified the situation. Staff also extremely lovely, knowledgeable and kid friendly. The food was wonderful.we ordered the SA King Prawn Pasta and it was outstanding. We are from Melbourne and dine out frequently at top restaurants.this establishment is by far the best restaurant we have dined at during our stay in Adelaide. We will definitely be back again and well done to all staff working on 5/01/2023 dinner service for making our evening a lovely experience.

Was part of booking for a large birthday made months in advance. Agreed upon price and menu from the outset, with deposit made. 1 week out from event Jolleys increased the price, reduced the menu and refused to allow any decorations to be brought in -> we took our business elsewhere. Poor communication throughout. Would not recommend for any large bookings.

Amazing food, waiters could explain various menu choices, clearly views relaxing on River Torrens. Good local wine choices. So glad to finally visit.
