Jimmy Melrose Park

From the Broadway Kiosk to the Glenelg Jetty this is one of the best sections of the Coast Park Trail.
The park is long and narrow, lined with pines and edged on both sides by dual pathways.
The views are awesome, park benches to watch from and multiple opportunities to step onto the sand. This is Kits favorite place he actually squeals when we get here

We came here a few times when we visited Adelaide. Enjoy having picnic here in the evening. Not too crowded and the breeze is so comfortable and relaxing.

Lovely place to go with the kids. Good long jetty, beautiful white sand, many different playground options, soft grass on long stretches for kids to play. Amazing sunset and lot of ice cream and fish & chips shops.

Family groups enjoyed sitting on the grass. Not enough seeing for us seniors.
Good place to play with a ball.

I prefer somewhere with more shade.

Excellent they have both a section big dogs and small dogs massive area of green excellent place to take your dog for exercise

This is one of the best places in SA for Sunset. The park is right by the most popular beach of Adelaide, Glenelg beach. It is really nice even just for a walk in any evening with a clear sky.

During Christmas and New Year, there could be musical concerts and fireworks which are amazing! At times they have fairs and different kind of shows as well.

Jimmy Melrose park acknowledges a famous pilot who also has a memorial at Stirling South Australia. On a sunny Spring day at the beach with no wind it is perfect

It's just a long park parallel to the beach. A couple of benches and big conifers. Flat grass, what else defines a park? Couple of sculptures, the only thing unique about it is its location near the ocean.

Nice place to just relax just near Glenelg. This place is perfect for watching the sunset. Parking is not as difficult as Glenelg and also not as crowded. From here is a nice walk in the early morning or sundown with a path right along the beach.

Good for the morning walk listening to the ocean enjoy the fresh air.and jogging around the nice scenery

A great place for the kids to run around and burn off some energy while you keep an eye on them. Grassed areas or the beach.

I love Glenelg city and I love these parks and green areas along the coast. It's so welcoming all year round. Perfect for practicing sports, ride your bike, walk dogs, enjoy with family and friends. One of my favourite spots in the fascinating Adelaide! Love it ️

Bring your fish&chips and watch the sunset as you sit in the shade of the pine trees. Better still, go for a swim. Look at the monument at the north end near the jetty.

A lovely spot right on the Glenelg foreshore. Bikes, pedestrians, and dogs (on leash) abound. A great spot to get fresh air.

What a beautiful spot! I headed to Adelaide and was told to take the train to Glenelg. So glad I did. Was a beautiful esplanade, with a great walking path. Lots of nearby restaurants and cafes. Was too cold to swim. Great spot to meet up with some friends.

The footpath is nice for skating and jogging. Good area for picnics. I like the roundabout with Mosaic artwork about Jimmy's life as a pilot. Dog friendly.

Great park. Has some outdoor art installations and right on the glenelg beach front. Can walk along the beach for many kilometers.

Great place for family get together or just relaxing, enjoying the beach and spectacular sunsets.

Bellisimo. Love it so so much. Always something new to do something new to see. As well as old favourites too. Great place to meet. To celebrate. To eat.and to explore.

Nice grassed area overlooking the beach. With plenty of public BBQs for cooking and tables and chairs for seating and eating.
You'll need to be prepared to carry your gear a reasonable distance from the car though.
