Jai Ho India Restaurant - Hallet Cove reviews
51One of the best restaurant ever with good staffs and best memorable place for biryani and chicken samosa
If u order thru menulog you’ll be waiting 30 minutes after supposed delivery time plus be charged $2 extra for delivery. Ring restaurant who don’t care.
I placed an order through uber eats. After dishing up my meal I discovered that my mild chicken and chic pea curry was infact a hot chic pea curry with no chicken in sight.
I thought let's do the right thing and give them a call. I got told a vindaloo is ment to be hot. I agree a vindaloo is ment to be hot but where is my chicken curry, ohh right yes we will get a new one to you. I asked about more rice, and was told they would charge me for that. I pointed out my rice was covered in hot curry, how is that really what I can use with a new curry. Not to mention it would go cold. Then apparently the line went funny and they couldn't hear me, so I was hung up on. No call back, and no food to replace my wrong order.
Amazing food and service. This place is an amazing take away. Food is always on point and great value. Highly recommend.
The staffs in this restaurant will always look like someone owes them money. The food is average, but the service is absolutely terrible
Rude AS! The guy on the phone has no time for the customer. Was rushing us thru our order and only gave us the most expensive options to choose from. Their only aim is to make money serving watered down food which on their best day would perhaps only deserve 1 star! Every dish tastes the same, the same sauce pretty much for every dish. Food has not been fresh the last few times. The spinach in the watery Palak paneer seemed to have been cooked from frozen spinach from the supermarket! Prices are ridiculously high for the quality you get. Customer service here has been a joke lately (This is the new very rude owner, the previous owners were polite and respectful. The new owner is arrogant, extremely impatient on the phone like he was doing us a favour!)
The attitude of the guy on the phone (guessing he's the owner). He forgets that its the customers who keep them in business!
Food tastes VERY ORDINARY, hygiene is of a low standard, the place feels like some cheap roadside eatery in a third world country, and especially in these times of covid its scary, we wont be ever going back
We would give this place a BIG ZERO but this wasnt an option in the Review section, it angers us to give them even 1star!
NEVER GOING BACK!
Dishes didn't taste authentic at all, and were probably made commercially & delivered to the restaurant. We are from the UK and know what real Indian food should taste like. Massively overpriced.
Excellent service, good food and good location. We walked here one Sunday evening and ate in. Cosy, small restaurant with casual atmosphere. Wasn’t the best Saag Paneer I’ve had but still very good. We enjoyed the entree plate.
Best meal I’ve ever had the pleasure of taking part in. From the atmosphere, to the divine flavor combinations and wine pairings; it was everything I had hoped for and more.
Lives up to the expectations. Absolutely delicious courses. Each dish introduced unique flavors that I have never tried before.
The food was delicious and equidistant from the inside the décor is fabulous.
I definitely recommend this exquisite restaurant.
Absolutely abysmal customer service. After trying this restaurant we loved the food so much we decided to make it a weekly event in our house. During the following 3 months, we waited, called to check on deliveries, and waited some more every week. I'm pretty sure they were only on time once, and frequently at least half an hour later than the given delivery time. This was frustrating but the food was still tasty, and I love to buy local so we kept going back. Until tonight that is. We placed an order on menulog and something went wrong during ordering so it went through as a pickup ready at 6pm (our mistake). Not realising the mistake, and just assuming it was just their normal lateness, we rang them at 6: 20 to be told "it's on the way" (their mistake). Waiting again, then at 6: 50 I ring again to be told it is waiting for us to pick up. This is when we realise the error and request it be changed to delivery. After trying to talk to the girl who answered the phone I'm handed to a man who didn't care that we order every week and I was told the only way to get our food was to come pick it up. So at about 7pm I'm at the restaurant picking up food that is sitting in a menulog delivery bag, (for an hour I'm assuming). I asked why they couldn't deliver the food after we realised the mistake and was told I needed to call menulog, "but why didn't you tell me that one of the times I rang? " *shrugs*. Absolutely did not care to try to rectify the situation and ended the conversation by taking a phone call. I wonder if they got their food?
So delicious. Can't fault a dish yet. Have had a few long waits but probably just due to it being busy. It's not ideal especially when the kids are hungry and need to go to bed but it's worth the wait for the price and flavours.
Language barrier is sometimes an issue but all in all have had a pretty good experience.
Food is great.however, we ordered through menu log and I instead of barramundi they gave us butter chicken which we get sick off.and we got sick and they did nothing to rectify it. The customer service is ridiculously bad.long long delivery and poor understanding of how to talk to people. Also, still waiting for an order that has taken an hour and 50 minutes.so far
Food was cold rice was missing when I phoned to tell them the reaction was OK last I heard will call in for a refund see you tomorrow
Food is good, delivery times ok. Everyone though should be aware that companies like Menulog and Uber Eats charge the restaurant a commission of up to around 30% so if you want to help the owners stay in business you should phone them directly to order instead of the profits going into the pockets of the delivery firm.
Orderd food and never received it for over 2 hours, finally the food arrived but opened it up and every thing was cold so we ended up throwing it in the bin seams to have got very slack with service the last few months. Very disappointing
Rubbish service, called through order, was told half hour, went to collect and had to sit for another half hour. Ended up walking out with no food
The 1 star is because the food was tasty, however the staff are so unbelievably rude.
I placed an order tonight and an item was missing. When I rang them they said they had sent it and basically called me a liar.
I had to file a complaint with menulog and ended up getting 20% of my order refunded.
Yes they are local but they need to up their customer service skills as there are many other Indian restaurants who are just as good or better, and who appreciate their customers keeping their business going. I for one will not be ordering from them again!
Some honesty before I start spitting flames. The food here is ok, its cheap which attracts a financially restricted consumer such as myself, but thats the only reason I return.
But I must confess, this is exactly the establishment you want to walk into if your ideal experience is centred around: Being made to feel like god created you for the sole purpose of being a nuisance, being a waste of space, and just being ugly to look at.
I had never felt more awkward and unwelcome in my life until I decided to embark on the customer experience offered at Jai Hoo on Barramundi.
One time the owner (I think) gave me this look upon entrance that forced me to reconsider every decision I had ever made once i got back in the car, really sat there for a moment and thought "is this it".
I mean ill probably be back there next week or whatever but im not looking forward to it man, I can only describe the feeling as that of when you might walk into someones home uninvited, wielding nunchucks in each hand.
And still my forgiving heart gives this place 2 stars. Thanks for reading.
