Because of the birthday season, we ordered birthday cakes at three cake shops. The result of this one was the worst. The cake was not soft enough, it was baked a bit old, the cream was sweet and even had a taste of essence, and the paintings were as good as the ones provided. There is a big difference in the pictures, in short, I am very disappointed

Just outside the city near Kent Town Bunnings you will find a funky patisserie. 4 dine-in tables or take away, with a interesting selection of pastries, muffins and cakes. The tiramisu is based on a baked cheesecake by all accounts. The portions are relatively small but tasty.
Coffee was good with super art.
The shop also makes custom cakes.
On street parking was available nearby for my visit.
No toilets as far as I could tell, and somewhat cold with large open doors on a wet and blustery day.

Cake was good, however, the person in charge with taking orders on Instagram needs to be more responsible. My partner and I went to JD Cake Lab on a Saturday to pick up the cake because it was convenient for us as it’s a non-working day. They forgot to take the order, so we had to reschedule the order on a Tuesday and had to pay $6 delivery fees to our dinner place as both of us work late and could not pick it up by 5pm. One of the staff members also mentioned that they take their orders on Instagram now. Probably best to call them instead.

How disappointing.

Everything we had was delicious: coffee, chocolate Mille slice and Almond crispy. Hope to visit again soon

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. It was PERFECT! Down to the last details as per request.

Cake was soft and flavourful, not tooo sweet. Buttercream was yummy.

Their cakes are beautiful and you always can find different flavours here. Especially the strawberry roll cake are amazing. Sometimes they have some cake pre made. But they also do customise cake for birthday or ceremony etc.

This is my favourite cake shop in Adelaide, they have a lot of delicious cakes and pastries. You can simply show the picture or idea how you want to design your cake to manager and you can get the same or even better one. They’re professional and creative. Highly recommend

Ordered this cake for my 21st birthday last week via their WeChat account, it was a 6-inch Earl Grey tea cake with strawberry and lychee filling inside.

I saw the original design from RED, and being a strawberry fanatic I decided that this will be the cake for my big day! Then I asked J&D to make it for me, which they immediately said okay, which was great! They advised me the pricing and I was also notified that the cute design on the side of the cake would be made from buttercream whilst all the other parts would be fresh cream.

Although there was a slight colour difference on the green parts (it was a brighter shade than what I would like) and also given I had to take the bus to their shop to pick up, the cake was actually one of the best that I've ever had so far! Customer service was good, and will definitely order from them again if they are doing more deliveries to the city.

The first picture was the one from RED and the second picture was what they made for me. Looks pretty similar to me!

Best cake shop ever in Adelaide and happy to share my favorite cake shop with my friends and parents.

Today is my friend’s birthday, his girlfriend ordered a cake for this store due to the nice advertisement pictures. We asked them sent us a picture when they finished the cake, without any reply. Then we received a cake which disappointed us, we even think we ordered the cake through a fake store.
I just attached the pictures, and I think everyone can know which one is the one we get.
Won’t come back.

I was glad that I could find such a lovely cake store in Adelaide. So I ordered a birthday cake via their wechat. But the staff is not professional at all - completely misunderstood my order without double check and it took them hours even a day to reply my message. When I politely pointed out the mistake, the staff didn’t apologize with a good attitude but said there’s no cherry in this season. She (he?) could’ve explained before taking the order and I would be happy with any changes on the cake. But now she’s only using it as an excuse. Won’t come back again.

Very high end dessert place, they provided excellent customer service. Vanilla sponge base cakes are extremely softer and delicate! Recommend for weddings, parties and birthdays celebration.
