InterContinental Adelaide reviews
75Hard product is horribly dated and badly in need of a refresh. This is more than made up for with the service from staff who were excellent. IHG needs to invest a lot more money into this hotel, especially with the far superior Sofitel nearby.
Room was a bit average with terrible doors into the bathroom. No booklet of information so lucky I turned on the TV where the information is. Apart from that the place was lovely.
Room was lovely and beautiful view. Would definitely go back again. Musician in Atrium bar was brilliant.
Sensational stay, the level of high quality customer service is fantastic. ALL the staff are amazing, so friendly and accomodating and always smiling. From the neat, clean common areas to the clean and tidy guest rooms and the great pool deck we enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all the wounderful staff
Our experience was not as good as it was last year as we had an annoying kids ringing our door bell. Staff did speak to the children but not the mother hence it continued. Finally the staff asked if we want to be moved but as the nuisance kids were leaving we stayed where we were. Other than that the food is still excellent and staff and surroundings were still beautiful but I'll think about straying there again.
Excellent hotel. Neat, clean rooms with all the facilities you might need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good. We stayed on a package deal which was very generous. Included room, parking, breakfast and $50 credit towards dinner. Good views. All round a very pleasant stay.
I found a used tissue under my pillow - not mine! In these Covid times! Galling when they tout their extra cleaning! I did not receive a satisfactory explanation. I still feel icky!
Flashback to the 80s with the decor set of the room, the room was very clean and tidy we had a view over the top of Parlement house, the. The bar was disappointing as what was on the Gin menu non of it was available condiment wise other than Lime or Lemon. The breakfast was nice but the service was quite abrupt. Overall the hotel needs an upgrade but was clean.
PERFECT IS THE WORD
On arrival we were greeted with such a friendly and helpful team of staff who instantly ensured that any requests were fully achieved.from completely explaining, giving many recommendations and suggestions to enable our stay would be extremely comfortable.from this point on we received top grade service and nothing was too much effort to give us faultless service and comfort.the room was perfect in every way.great layout, comfortable bed with excellent views.excellent bar and relaxing lounge area plus top quality delicious food and service right throughout the hotel… location of the hotel was perfect with easy access to everything from eating areas, shopping, attractions all within walking distance plus transport was “right at the doorstep” (just about). Definitely the best stay right in the heart of the city … PERFECT IS THE WORD! - InterContinental Hotel.we love it.we have already booked to come back again … RAY
Be warned: if you end up with a room facing North Terrace, make sure you have industrial strength earplugs because you'll be singing along to the casino's cover band til 3AM. Sounded like the concert was happening in our room! Not worth it for the sleepless night.
I really enjoyed my overnight stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Adelaide. I booked the All inclusive offer and paid an extra $50 to request a riverside view of the Torrens. I wasn't able to eat in the Shiki Japanese restaurant as it was booked out, so next time I will book the restaurant at the same time as the accommodation. The room was large, had a comfy bed and super clean. The view was great. Breakfast next day was ordered from a menu, attentive staff and food arrived promptly.
Comfy room we ate at shiki absolutely the best meal ive ever had our chef was amazing worth the cost
Great central location with fabulous service
Really like staying here
Price is highish and it is starting to be in the need for a reno, but highly recommended
Nice spot and we all had well served these days. Nothing really fancy but the service was really good
We attended the Intercontinental for High Tea and were terribly disappointed.
On being seated we waited 10 minutes for a waitress to attend our table. She poured champagne and left. It was a further 15 minutes before she returned with food.
The food was lovely however we were provided with one set of cutlery for sweets and savoury and could not get a staff member to bring clean cutlery.
After being there for 40 minutes we were finally asked if we wanted tea. It took 20 minutes to arrive. We ordered coffee, waited 35 minutes and it never came.
The service was very poor and spoiled what would otherwise have been pleasant.
Arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 4.00pm.line up was 40 people long, and took 40 minutes to check in. Many people unhappy as they missed pre booked functions. Apparently check it stared at 3.00pm. On a Saturday prior to Christmas it was a bit ludicrous.
Went up to the room to chill and watch TV, but it wasnt working.tried ringing down, but no good. Mentioned it to our fellow guests at the bar, and all 4 said the same, no TV.
No bar snacks either. A bit over the Covid top i fear.
Understand an upgrade is coming, but what about the current guests? Very disappointed
Tried getting tea there tonight, nil service eating the minutes for menu grabbed myself, left letting know we are staying the night and very disappointed, they could care less such poor service a real shame
Great staff very helpful and friendly, got into Adelaide earlier than expected and were able to check in straight away. Really good pizza at the lounge bar for lunch, really good full cooked breakfast. Did not have Dinner here. Special mention to Oktay Kilic Head Concierge made our stay in Adelaide so very special. We booked a room for as a treat for our daughter on the evening of her 21st birthday celebration. When she arrived she was thrilled to be given a double room with a welcome gift as she got ready with her sister and friend. Only to be told 3 hours later they incorrectly provided the wrong room and asked her and her sister to clean up and vacate the other room unless they were willing to pay for the additional space. She was terribly embarrassed. I spoke to the front desk who were also very embarrassed and assured me it would be resolved. We then discovered later they convinced my daughter to pay for the extra room which she could not really afford. We were disappointed that this left a sour note on what was a special evening.
The room was nice and clean. The linen was of good quality and the view wasn't too bad. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding considering we got there with in 2 minutes of the kitchen closing. How ever this is where the good comments stop. Our room was out dated, weird stains in weird spots, the fridge and air-conditioning are at least 30yrs old. There was no microwave in the room. Very little info on what the hotel offered room service wise. I ended up getting dressed and going across to the conv store to get drinks. The $99 up grade definitely did not live up to it's hype or promoted experience. The bar was also disappointing if your going to advertise a cocktail that contains a spice such as Tobasco or Chilli the waiter should advise the person ordering. The room was out dated, the colour scheme was hideous and layout was not user friendly.
