No way near as good as light cycles last year. Scared my kids, poor catering options (doughnuts, Vegemite sandwiches and chips near the end) and a bit creepy.
Far too many people packed in and herded around like cattle for this to be enjoyable.
Felt very sorry for those with wheelchairs trying to navigate huge crowds and very minimal visibility, yes they warn you re terrain but not the huge oversold amount of tickets/ people to navigate… Greed wins I guess.
Crowd control (when they were around) were clearly stressed and annoyed too.
We went on a Wed night, expecting it to be quieter than a weekend, shudder to think what weekend would be like.
People with the novelty flashing swords purchased nearby also distracting from the overall effect.
Anyone with sensory issues if you think you can handle it, please make sure you pack earplugs/ earmuffs and be aware it’s very difficult to leave quickly and easily if overwhelmed. Not really a relaxing or inclusive experience for our party sadly.
2 stars for the free street displays and the whole idea which could really use further expanding to be enjoyable to more diverse audience.
Absolutely stunning! City lights were fantastic and the Light Cycles is a must experience! The sound is what made the show a grand success. Beautiful.
Sometimes it’s wonderful and magical to be carried away by these artistic installations where it’s difficult to escape from so much beauty!

Visited light cycles and free city events. The free events were not very good but light cycles in the botanical gardens was amazing. Worth every dollar, staff were very friendly and allowed time to view the lights. Would highly recommend, we loved it and hope this event returns to adelaide.
Such a beautiful and sensational event. Loved each and every moment. Creativity level at it’s best, the team work seems to be so effective, wonderful customer service considering the weather as it was raining time to time, really appreciate. I would love this event every year️
