Hungry Hen

Easily the best place for a burger in Golden Grove. The burger patties, which appear to be fresh ground, are well cooked with a nice Maillard crust and a little pink in the middle.generous toppings and sauce finish it off. My goto is the Hot and Furious with double beef and extra Jalapenos. The chips are also pretty good.

The family also loves their cheese burgers, wraps, chicken burgers, onion rings and salads.

Only wish there was a larger Eat-in area as burgers are always best when just cooked.

I had an order giftef to me unfortunately i was at work so 3 hours later i tried the chips cold and boy was that good, cant imagime the taste fresh! Had a falafel wrap which was pretty good too

Been going here since I was a child.must be having a rough patch at the moment being so busy! Past 3 times I have given them a chance as it's our go to chicken shop, however chips have been overcooked and 3/4 full everytime?

Not sure what's going on, hopefully they get back to their best ASAP!

So good, happy to check and adapt for coeliac and dairy intolerance. The chips were great, the chicken avocado burger was tasty and fresh, and I didn't get sick! Highly recommended.

Not bad, but certainly better options for the price.

We ordered the Yankee Burger, Chicken Schnitzel pack and the Nuggets and chips. The burger and chips ok, I wouldn't complain but probably wouldn't rush to order again. The Schnitzel pack wasn't great as it had a strange chemical flavour to it.

Overall, it was just fine. For the price, you'd probably be better off travelling a little further to get something nicer.

We have been regular customers of this store for many years. The food is always great. I placed an order via Menulog today at 3: 27 pm which was quickly accepted by the store. All of the regular notifications came through as per usual including the notification that the driver had arrived at the store. At 4: 19 pm, I received a notification that my order had been cancelled. I do understand that orders can not always be fulfilled but I was a little disappointed that it took nearly an hour before I was told that my order was cancelled. It's even more frustrating that no explanation was given.

Nothing like biting in to a hotdog and hearing a crunch only to realise there's egg shell in it. Probably won't be in a rush to eat from here again

Got chips today they where a bit burnt. Prob because the guy doing them was to busy on his phone. And to charge 30 cents for a quirt of vinegar is a bit much. Won't be back any time soon

For some context on why I’m leaving this review today, I saw Chicken Chef was rated Australia’s best chips so bad to try them. The person at Chicken Chef was so rude to me for no reason and I hated the chips, very oily and horrible.

Made me realise how much I appreciate Hungry Hen, food is way better quality and staff is always friendly

Been going for years, not as good as it use to be. The last two times I had the yankie burger and both times any half as good as it use to be.
Last time front staff of house left my burger and chips sitting on bench for 5min before calling my number too.

Really nice chicken shop! Great food and friendly staff, makes you feel hospitable and welcome. Caters for all with the option to substitute for gluten free; such as gluten free burger buns, gluten free gravy and gluten free potato salad:)

Seriously the best burger I've had I ages.thin patty, nicely cooked, seeded bun just so delicious!

Really good burgers (I've tried the beef and chicken so far) and lovely chips. Quick turnaround and friendly staff. Local gem.

Paid 11$ for a handful of chips.rip off.has no bag sizes to choose from.thats how they overcharge you.dont recommend coming here for chips.

Ive been going to Hungry Hens for a year or two now (possibly longer I forget)

And the customer service is excellent the food is beautiful I have tried alot of their items my favourite Burger is The Stack.

Great Burgers, Chicken, ABS, Wraps and Hot Dogs. Also I love the salad here especially the Potato Salad!

The meat is excellent the chips are great as well.

The Stack is one of My favourite Burgers in Adelaide.

Definitely Recommend give them a try!

10/10 Chips and chicken. So sad it took me so long to discover this GEM of a place! The chips are seriously the best I've had from a chicken shop, every chip is crispy and has ample chicken salt, frothing just thinking about it!

Ordered a chicken AB pack, given lamb instead. Owner was belligerent and rude when informing them, refused to refund, took getting my chef partner on the phone to get anywhere. Chips were poorly cooked.

Customer service non existent.

For a takeaway restaurant it's value for money. Only negative is they use way too much salt on the chips.
