Hotel Spencer reviews
30I've never stayed here as I live in Whyalla but it is one of my fave places in town to have my very unhealthy but scrumptious loaded wedges minis the bacon and spring rolls.
We r here now pub crawl of Whyalla
9bucks imperial pint
Go George
Go Greg
Go Steve I'm the driver on coke
Don't know why Jukeboxes were for +18s only quite surprised you can find a pub with available even ones where 8s 12s can also use them and play pull any one can in some pubs
Went for lunch on 6/01/2023 Bar staff great people and friendly. Lunch meal was horrible. Chips were not cooked, tuna patties were uncookedand Roast pork dinner had only 1 very small potato cut in half and mostly green beans. This the only time we have had a bad meal there
Enjoyed a couple of drinks while looking around Whyalla. Beer was nice and cold and staff friendly.
Always love visiting the spenny great service great meals cold beer a spin on the pokes n great Sunday session bands
Great staff, food and Beer
Ideal for a couple of quiet ones during the day The locals seem quite happy to chat mostly
Great music. Sunday Sesh is the best.
Awesome atmosphere. Lazy Sunday afternoon place to chill.
Still one great pub located in the main Street.
Shame the main Street isn't what it once was but that's progress.
Buy a beer and have a meal
Shared the southern Fried Chicken Burger and Spencer Steak Burger with friend, both were perfect, highly recomend
Well this hotel has changed somewhat. The front bar was not operational at all. Sad since it used to be quite busy. They do have some machines so they are still operating.
My grandfather (jack Hannan) used to bring me here every Friday when I was 4 years old. (1973). We sat in a small alcove near the window and front door.with my nan.right near the very end of the bar.all the bar staff new me & fed me lemon squash & salt & vinegar chips.back then I had no idea that my grandfather was an illegal bookie. We'd have a drink, he'd collect owed money & take bets on horse races. I even believe that a few of my cousin's still drink there from time to time,!? Hello to any Hannan lads from cousin Col
I was disappointed as K went to see a band and all the wrong information was given and ended up going home
Was disappointed that it was supposed to have a band playing which if did but incorrect details that when you arrived you had to have previously booked.
Basic cheap rooms with showers and toilets that do the job nicely. Good food, cold beer and friendly locals.
Very old syle pub accommodation Cheap and perhaps nastalgic but not for everyone
I enjoyed it for the above reason wife not so much.
Great spot for a few drinks, the cocktail jugs are not worth it though, 2 shots of alcohol per 1.8L of mixer for $22
The Spencer Hotel has fantastic food but don't stay there you'll be chased away by people asking you for money from other rooms
Live local acts regularly great atmosphere beer garden, gaming and great meals and most importantly decent priced drinks
