Hotel Bay View reviews
34Great nachos, only half decent nachos in down town. Don't get the chicken salad although, it's very dry
This was my first time going to the Hotel Bay View and it was amazing. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was amazing. Will definitely go back again.
The service was great. The women couldn't be more friendly. Went out of their way to make our visit special. Good menu and free wi fi.
Great service and atmosphere but the food was way below par, "chicken schnitzel"was a glorified processed chicken nugget with microwaved sauce.great price. Not so great food
Just wanna let people know, since I've seen a lot of bad reviews on the food. The bayview has no chefs, the person who served you also had some impact on your food. They have 1 frier that can cook about 2 meals at a time and a sandwich press looking thing that can cook about 3/4 hamburgers. Yes the chicken schnitzel is gross, I agree with you.
Not making excuses, the food is hit or miss but give the poor barstaff making your food a break. Some of them have little to no cooking experience aswell and being supplied frozen gross stuff to cook with.
I have to be honest I never went in just passing but I have heard the food there is realy nice so if your interested give it a try.
Went in for a quick dinner - they are open late even on a public holiday.
The seafood basket was sumptous and served quickly. Service was always with a brad smile and typical non-urban inclusivity.

‘Eat’ is the first line of their advertising: however neither their website, bar menu display nor table menus explain they no longer serve beef. So no steak sandwiches, no Thai beef salad etc. No chips or wedges (cos this is a shortage) but also no onion rings and no dessert.
The bruschetta came ‘construct yourself’ but no feta. And the Asian share plate was a Coles box collection, deep fried; nothing fresh or tasty.
I guess they make their money from pokies and alcohol.
Forget eating here.
Staff are so friendly cold drinks good food just what you need after sight seeing around Whyalla
Literally the worst experience ever.
They made us wait an hour for just fish and chips. We made our order at 3: 10 and got our food at 4: 15. Ps the hotel was really quiet too, it was just us who ordered any food I guess. Also the employee there had no courtesy to at least come at us and tell what the issue was. Rather when we asked for cutlery’s she threw from away to our table.
And when food arrived it was obviously the worst. Chips all soggy and rotten.insane experience. Just amazed why it took so long to get the frozen fish and chicken.
I had the chicken burger & my friend had the chicken schnitzel, it it was both the same horrible peace of chicken
It was extremely dry and tasteless. It tasted like a supermarket frozen schnitzel.
It was beyond bad, I definitely wouldn't be going back there again
A big thank you to Donna, the manager at the Bayview. She was so lovely and gave my mother and I exceptional service and she was so thoughtful. A great place, open late and quick service.
Enjoyed our meal, not expensive and quantity was just right, I didn't pay for more than I needed. The food came out freshly cooked and piping hot. Service was good and staff friendly. Would come back again and could recommend
I have been to the Bayview for many work functions, such as meetings and networking events.
The outside seating is fantastic throughout most of the year and is quite relaxing.
Because they do food throughout the day and night, it makes for a great last minute stop if catching up with friends or family.
The staff are always friendly and the beer is cold.
Good friendly service, went here a couple of times, beer cold, meals are all fried prepared product, nothing wrong with them but wouldn't recommend you come here for the food.
Despite the name, no view of the bay. We had a couple of beers and a meal. It was pleasant. I would have preferred somewhere that had a view of the bay.
Nice newly renovated club, good chairs to sit on especially in the pokies room. Prices of beer were good
Pre-prepared frozen food - schnitzels and seafood. Seemed to take a lot longer time than necessary for food to come.
It was OK.
If you want a decent meal and cheap drinks, with a nice atmosphere on the main strip of whyalla, it's the place to go
