This is going to be a long review, so please bear with me. I was on a holiday in South Australia. We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn express in the Adelaide CBD.
I would like to say that they have a highly disrespectful, unhelpful and unwelcoming behaviour.
We had booked the trip through a third party app. Firstly, they provided inaccurate information with regards to parking. We saw many other guests expressing the same concern as the hotel has collaborated with a carpark next door and charge a hefty amount everytime you take your car out.
There was no mention of this anywhere in the description that they provided to the 3rd party.
We were stuck in the reception for almost 3 hours trying to figure out a solution as our booking email confirmed that there is a parking without additional charges.
Upon speaking with the Manager named Manthan, he refused to help and asked us to talk to the 3rd party to figure this out.
In the next 3 hours, when the staff could clearly see we were exhausted, helpless and extremely stressed, not once anyone checked in with us or offered to help in anyway.
It was really sad to see how they were talking to some other guests too, which was very unwelcoming and disrespectful.
The complimentary breakfast was average and clearly not enough for the amount of guests that they have.
Overall, I had a terrible time with Manthan and the rest of the staff.
I would recommend to not stay at this property if you plan on taking a car or call them before hand to clarify how this system works. We were extremely excited for Adelaide but this experience has made us distressed and disappointed.

I checked into this hotel on 3/1/24. I put a tin of coke in my room's fridge the same day. The tin of coke was still in the fridge on 5/1/24 in the morning but disappeared in the evening. It was not a big issue, but I wanted to know who took the tin of coke, so I informed the front desk that night. On 7/1/24, there was no response to me. I inquired with the male staff again when I finished my breakfast. He said that he would get back to me later on. I was disappointed that there was no response or reply from them until I left the hotel on 10/1/24. From my perspective, a tin of coke is not valuable, but I think it is worth giving feedback to your staff for information and to maintain the quality of service. Thank you for your attention.

Were there for a total of 4 nights. Hotel, staff, breakfast all very good, but: AVOID ON SATURDAYS! Reason: There is a club right next door that plays the music so loud that the windows on the eighth floor vibrate to the beat of the bass. So sleep was out of the question until 4: 12!

Came here for a breakfast, and waited a solid 5 minutes for someone to come and answer my questions at the reception. Coffee machine broken, and a fee. Whoever was serving my coffee was rude as well. The breakfast staff seem understaffed and stressed.

The location in the city is good, the staff is average. I'm not a native English speaker, but they did their best to understand what I was saying. Breakfast was okay, up to par.

The last day of the three days we stayed, there was no hot water. We asked the staff at the front desk of the hotel, but they only told us that our floor was under maintenance. There was no hot water from 3pm to 5am the next day.

And the staff didn't arrange any other solution. For an ordinary hotel chain, guests can only rely on themselves.

This review is so conflicting for multiple reasons, and I don't even know where to begin.

The good:
The lobby was beautiful, clean and welcoming. The coffee at the bar was great, try the espresso if you come here and can't get to a cafe. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast but heard good things from a coworker. The rooms are clean and neat for one person.and that's a good time to switch to the bad.

The bad:
The rooms are built for one person. You could come here with your significant other, but the bed will be tight, and you'll most likely see them using the bathroom through the glass walled bathroom. DO NOT SHARE A ROOM WITH YOUR COWORKER, LOL. Some of the staff was exceptional, the other half seemed like it was a struggle to be there and help you out. I asked for a coffee at 11PM because I had a flight at 6AM the next day and was just going to stay up and sleep on the flight. They said they couldn't turn on the coffee machine? Ok.

And then the worst part. If you want to stay here on the weekend and get sleep, for the love of God find somewhere else to stay. You're basically sleeping in a nightclub with how loud the bass is shaking your room. It's unbearable. And this is coming from someone who never has any issues falling asleep.

In closing, it's a cool hotel with a lot of potential. The location is actually very great as you are in walking distance to practically anywhere you would want to go. And Adelaide is absolutely stunning. However, I would probably look elsewhere if staying anywhere from Thursday -> Sunday, and/or if you're not going to be here alone.

Cheers

Service was exemplary. Breakfast was sufficient. Location was perfect. Only grouse was there were a couple of lights and my safe that was not working. But the overall experience was still great

The location is fantastic. Walking distance to train station, cafes and shopping. I found it easy to find the parking. I would say it's more suited to someone staying on their own. The glass bathroom is so impractical. No privacy and turning the light on during the night lights up the entire room. We stayed on a weekend and the noise from the Hindley Street nightclubs on Saturday was ridiculous. The room vibrated with the bass of the music and we didn't sleep more than a few hours because of this and the noise. There was constant knocking on doors which seems strange given you need a card to use the lifts. I would stay again for work, but not for a weekend.

Despite the awkward view of the room, everything was fine. The hotel was quiet, good ventilation with friendly staff. The housekeeping team (Sharon) was so great and polite.

Lovely hotel, nice and modern furnishings and in a great location not far from Rundle mall, skycity and the river! The included breakfast was a very nice addition, and I found that even though there is no business facilities they made the lounge available for wfh with plenty of power point sockets. Staff had a nice attitude and they did a great job.

Stayed for a conference in November, and is easily my new go to hotel when staying in Adelaide. Great central location, excellent staff service, good value for good rooms.

Very clean rooms, relatively new building. Central location, walking distance to variety of food outlets, train station, public transport, shops, Adelaide Oval, several parks and gardens including Royal Botanic Gardens. Very helpful staff members. Breakfast is provided, not much choice but good selection, great coffee machines. Parking available at a cost of $25 per exit. Stayed there 2 nights and explored what Adelaide has to offer. Highly recommend it.

I had a nice experience here. I requested the quiet room, as I was nervous having a big day. They arranged the room on the corner. I appreciate it I was able to have restful sleep. Receptionists were efficient and friendly. Spotlessly clean room and good breakfast They even put all kinds of alternative milk next to coffee machine. I loved it. If I go back to Adelaide, I would like to stay here again.

Relatively cheap CBD option, located in a rather dingy laneway. Not very inviting nor safe late at night. Either the council or the hotel itself should consider much brighter streetfront lighting.
Rooms are not overly large, but well enough equipped. TV, USB points, small coolbox - not really a fridge.
Definitely showing wear and tear. In our room, the chair was badly stained, the footstool had a broken leg, and some water from the oddly designed shower leaked out onto the room floor.
Breakfast is included and is quite a reasonable selection. The hotel has a gym and a laundry. Discounted parking is next door.
I think they should consider providing some bottled water in the rooms.
Overall, a good bargain option.

The hotel's amenities are simple but everything you need. Cosy and clean room. Inclusive continental buffet breakfast was delightful too. Spacious dining/ lounge area (next to reception) with great happy hour deal. Lovely service team. Easily accessible via public transport from the airport. Convenient and central location. We had a very pleasant stay!
