Holdfast Hotel / The Holdy

Such a shame to experience the restaurant changes to a downward slide into the new image "Star" pub's obvious deliberate target mass market. The pricey menu doesn't match the image & disappointed to see new wine list, particularly by the glass, is now mundane & unappealing. That's OK, go for it, we more discriminating locals do have choices. Good luck.

Food was great.
Service was OK, but disorganised
Was moved from beer garden area because it was booked out for an engagement party, an organised business would have reserved signs on tables and say in advance that it was booked, not asking someone to move mid way through a meal.

Casual Sunday afternoon lunch, Caesar Salad was brilliant. Food service was fast and polite team.

Since the management change the food quality went down the drain charging almost 40 dollars for a meal fish is dry steak is dry very disappointed not worth for spending 200 dollars rather look for different options

I thought expensive for what I received. Ceaser salad was a lot of chopped lettuce, not much dressing, no anchovies a bit of bacon $24.00. Add extra for the salt and pepper squid, which was beautifully cooked
My husband had beef salad. Same thing, lot of lettuce but beef whilst quite reare was tough. Seemed as though beef was pre cooked and re heated, not sure but tough and grisly

Excellent. Seniors meals great. Soup $3.00 and deserts $2.00. $20.00 all up and a 3 course meal. Greal service and pleasant staff. Holdy is a winner in my books.

Try to avoid going to the holdy drive-thru bottle shop. Allow half an hour the slow paced older man should go home and sit in his TV chair rather than be working there. Waddling around inside doing God knows what. Give a young enthusiastic worker a chance at employment and put him out to pasture please.

Went to the Hold fast Hotel to celebrate my mother- in - laws birthday. The food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good afternoon out.

Nice place, better than average pub food quality and choices, generous serves. Safer to book as was quite popular.

My friends and I all had very average, tasteless lunches - not good enough for the prices charged.

Front bar food was really average. Decent range of beers for a local. The quiz night on tuesday is fun with friends.

Meals were fantastic Service below standard. Probably won't go back again. Spent $200 Went elsewhere for dessert and coffee. Spent another $40 The disappointment was my 9yr grandson chose the Holdy for his birthday tea. Meals 10 out of 10

Had a meal here for a friend’s birthday celebration and it was quite nice having a spacious room for the birthday guests.
Really nice vibe throughout, doesn’t have the pub feel. Food was good, I had a Caesar salad and my husband had the vegan burger.
The only thing we didn’t like was the way in which the meals came out- staff would yell out names of the meals and people would put up their hands if it was theirs.
I have not ever experienced such service before. All other restaurants, cafes and pubs I’ve eaten at there has been a more professional system of serving food to the customer.

Their prices are too expensive for me & my family. There is not much vegetarian or vegan food options.

Wednesday my partner went to your bingo night with family. Had a fantastic time. Today we thought we would go and have a drink and watch the footy. Great venue. But the long lashes girl behind the bar. FFS. Peter Barnes.got us back. She was always somewhere else and if she looked at her watch any more times she would have worn it out. If your staff don't want to help you get back to your former self, talk the talk to them. Regards Mick.

Found the Holdy a bit hit and miss. Have been here a few times over the years but the chefs seem to change every time. Consistency is key!

They have a great lunch special of two mains and a jug for $25. We've never left hungry.

The new remodeled hotel got a nice ambience. The food is good and price is reasonable. Staff are friendly and good customer service.

A great place for a family meal with reasonable prices. I love going to this place as it has a nice atmosphere about it. Everything is clean and tidy. As soon as you leave the table a waiter is be hind you ready to clean. Even when they are extremely busy the food did not take too long to come out. I had pork belly and I give it a 5 out of 5.

Wonderful atmosphere. Good for families, group celebrations or just couples. Delicious food, reasonably priced. Friendly, welcoming staff. Really well decorated too. Consistently good.
