HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout reviews
19The memorial itself is informative but visitors are leaving too much trash around the grounds. Please take you rubbish with you!
Lovely location; interesting historical information on HMAS Hobart.
We visited on a busy public holiday, and unfortunately, litter was left behind by inconsiderate people. No toilet facilities or shade.
Beautiful place to sit back and relax with a nice view of the sea from above, especially in the evenings.
A stunning view along the Gulf St Vincent coast.
This area is directly off Main South Rd. It offers excellent views of the coast along with information of the HMAS Hobart which lays on the ocean floor nearby.
A great location to pull over, stretch the legs and take in the beautiful coastline.
*Note, be careful exiting this location back onto the main road. Although the road has good vision, the traffic goes by fast and will come up faster than you may expect. Oh and stick to the left side of the road! This has been a significant issue in the past.
Interesting spot to learn about the fate of D39 HMAS Hobart that ended up as a diving attraction 12ish km west of this lookout
Beautiful view and the beach down the bottom has some amazing rocks that would be great paperweights it also has pink quartz.
The drive to this place is beautiful. The view of the landscape from this place is extraordinary. Must see place if you live in Adelaide.
Interesting and great to visit on a perfect day like today. Could see kangaroo island and the beautiful coast line.
Nice park on the waterfront at Carrickalinga, we had lunch in the gazebo, was a bit windy the day we went
Quaint neat and tidy little spot with an informative memorial. Nice place for a quick snack or leg stretch. Just be wary of traffic when entering or exiting.
A wonderful lookout over the ocean and Lady Bay. The Information on the Hobart ships is fascinating. The memorial is clean and well kept. Worth a short visit.
Great lookout. I have stopped here multiple times to enjoy the views. If you have time, go down to the beach for a walk.
Awesome place to stop if you're stuck behind slow moving traffic. Take in the views and let the slow traffic pass!
On the way to The Second Valley, one must definitely stop at this point for a good view of the beautiful cliff and the blue sea. Only problem is that there is no toilet around, so you need to rush to Second Valley if you need to take a leak.
Cheers!
Beautiful spot for lunch on a nice day. Not a lot of shad areas but if the day is nice make sure you stop.
This is a decent lookout that you can pull over into easily. Seating is available close to the water’s edge and a picnic table is available a bit further away. My partner and I did a short hike down to the water. We met a park ranger who said he saw some baby brown snakes, so be careful if you go for the short hike down to the water.
Decent lookout. You can short hike down to the beach. The water crashes into the rocks which could be a good photo op
A beautiful place to stop, soak in the beautiful surroundings. The drive either day or night is so breathtaking. Ocean one side lined by beautiful trees and valley other side.
It does need a little but more shelter & rest rooms since it’s a popular stop.
