Highway One Motel

The bloke who runs this place, i tell ya. I used to be a loyal customer but not anymore. Not willing to accommodate anyone unlike other motels in this town, this bloke is pathetic!

Hotel is older but I cannot fault the service of Jeff and his team. Meals are delicious and huge. After having an accident with a kangaroo on our motorbike, Jeff and the staff couldn't do enough to ensure our comfort and help in anyway they could to get us, our bike and our gear home safely. Even dropping us off to the bus when we left. Thank you so much guys. We will definately be back when we can and will recommend you to anyone we know going to Port Augusta.

After many years, still fantastic staff, fantastic service and fantastic restaurant. Located on the highway, you can't miss it. Best to ring ahead as reception closes early, 7: 30pm.

Good service, outdated rooms, but plenty of room in the toilet and shower area. The bed felt comfortable all night. Good value for money. The shower was good.

Very comfortable hotel rooms and staffs. Always helpful with customers and with its customer service. Making customers welcome and worthwhile coming to South Australia beaches and having b.b. Q and relaxing at the last resort of the ocean.

Budget room at a very reasonable price, bed was a bit hard, but wi fi was good, room was clean, managers were lovely.

My mother and husband recently stayed in September 2022. The beds were uncomfortable. Poor sleep before a long drive, not good.
Return journey, given benefit of doubt, stayed again, Still terrible beds, poor nights sleep.
Feedback risk - people expecting to do a long days drive should seek other accommodation. WHS issue as driver is already tired before they start. Risk high.
Recommend to beds to be upgraded.

Great motel, brilliant shower in my room and understanding staff on reception after my truck broke down, Jeff looked after me really well.

I have been a regular here for years. Always a great, cheap place at stop for the night! The manager (Jeff I think) has always been friendly and helpful but he went above and beyond on my last trip. The poor bigger stayed in reception till after 9pm when I arrived. He looked tired and I apologised for being so late to which he replied “that’s ok. I still have another check in coming”. I would have been grumpy but not this guy. Later in the evening I was having trouble locking my bus that I was transferring north. The latch had seized. The manager was out for what I assume was a walk before bed when he saw me struggling with the bus. He came over and when I explained my problem he said “I might have something for that”. He took off and returned a short time later with a silicone spray. He also offered to get a drill if I needed to remove the latch.
The spray did the job and freed up the latch. What an absolute legend and went above and beyond at a time of the night when most normal hoteliers should have their feet up. Thanks mate! 5 stars!

I stay in the king rooms down the back regularly for work. They are spacious, quiet and spotlessly clean. High ceilings, carport parking, good water pressure and a comfy doona! Jeff and Helen are wonderful managers. Being a regular stay, they are friendly and warm. A home away from home.

Decided to stop in port Augusta on the way from Brisbane to Perth I stopped at Highway One Motel got a room for the night and went to their restaurant for dinner and ordered lamb shanks 2 with vegetables and when the meal arrived I demolished the entire meal and a couple of beers, the meal was absolutely delicious, I will be returning to Highway One Motel on my return journey home to Brisbane in a couple of weeks

Affordable family hotel for a safe night's sleep on the road.
Room for trailers & far enough from town there's no issue with utes, trailers & alike

Basic accommodation for a basic price. However the room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I had a deluxe Queen room. The internet was good also.

I was running late for the motel. My work booked it for me. Called the motel guy to leave key for me. He won’t give me key without payment. I have tried to explain that it’s corporate account booking. I had bit of stress until I got the room key.

I had the small little kids behind the counter yelling at and lack of hygiene a gloves no hair nets

It was a great place in Ceduna. Have plenty of options for food. Fuel is also available. Have so many things to do as its located in the small town. Enjoyed my stay.

Stayed the night amidst an west-east
-west coast trip. The motel seemingly only had another 3 residents for the night. So it was very quiet to say the least. We called up two hours before arrival and the staff were happy to take our details for payment and leave the key in the door given out late arrival time. $130 for a room (near the back for less highway noise). The room was very nice, high wooden ceilings and all amenities and services were to standard. The shower was nice and the bathroom was roomy enough. The only small problem was the air con was a little loud even on “super quiet” operation. Otherwise a great stay. We will be staying again and recommending to other travellers!
