Highway 1 Caravan & Tourist Park reviews
61Very large park, beautifully manicured gardens, sites are spacious and amenities modern and immaculate. 2 swimming pools and playgrounds for kids. Friendly staff and well managed. Highly recommend
They refuse to rent out spots to victims of domestic abuse. Apparently it's too much of a risk to help people in need, even when those people are willing to pay.
My Sis & I stayed on 2 separate occasions on our journey to and from Uluru our cabins we stayed in were comfortable 'however our first cabin the heating/ air conditioning thingy stuck in the wall sounded as bad as it looked on the upside 'extra blankets plenty of hot water and great pressure good bed's, handy to top up before you journey on and fantastic customer service
On our way back our stay was even better a cosy cabin nestled amongst the palm's with a working heat pump huh' even the car got a room/carport for the night, nice quiet & very comfy, great water pressure, plenty of hot water, very happy with the cabinwe were late getting in so we had to pick-up our keys from the garage "handy this garage ️
Used to be quite lovely. Lost our booking even though we had paid. Used to enjoy walking around the gardens. Has really been let go. Not really a tourist park these days more permanents which is a sign of the times.
Great place, lovely and quiet, the bays are easy to drive into with plenty of space.could do with an enclosed dog area
Very nice place to stay. Very clean. Dump point, pool, playground, camp kitchen, activities room. Will definitely be staying here again
A beautifully kept Caravan and Tourist Park would recommend it to my friends and tourist's
Rooms good value could do with a revamp but still great value. Service makes up for it all. All staff super friendly and had a great giggle with Nicole when booking in. Thx for the stay. Was a nice break to repack our van on our trip caravanning from wa.
Park is reasonable. Amenities are very clean and new looking. Great little games room and camp kitchen. Pity the staff are not as good as their park. Because of a major event in Adelaide that weekend, we booked a few months in advance to ensure 2 vans would have adjacent sites. When we arrived, staff advised that we were on sites 3 and 5 as the van on 4 had a medical emergency and was unable to move. We accepted their explanation as it was a medical emergency. However, when we got to the sites, no one was on 4. We returned to the office asking for an explanation which was not forthcoming. What we were told was, if you don't like it, leave. Which clearly we couldn't do as Adelaide was booked out. No apology, no 'sorry for the mix up.just leave. Needless to say we won't be back and wouldn't recommend the park
My first house was on a highway. I lived there for 8 years but this caravan park is the next level for road noise. I'm not overly keen for sleeping with ear plugs in but had to in order to get some sleep.
Such lovely Staff, went out of their way, very family friendly environment, loved my stay here.
Excellent customer service.
I do not recommend for young family’s, pools were disgusting has clumps of hair floating I’m them, yeah, my family and I all got sick from the pool, got followed around the camp site by one of the “friendly” locals got stalked and abused by him, felt unsafe, office staff were very rude
Booked a caravan site and site have plenty of room. Amenities are well looked after and in top condition, pool and recreational room for kids. Definitely recommend to others.
Very clean and lovely front-end staff.
I do suggest taking your own drinking water
I found the water left your mouth dry. Was very weird. Dry tasting water. So if you're not used to their water, best take your own.
Hidden gem! 3 bedroom villa was spacious, clean and comfy. Pool looks amazing, facilities are great, small kids playground, and not noisy as expected near the highway. Only 15mins to Port Adelaide and Semaphore beaches. Great spot. Great service ️
All drive through sites with perfectly positioned parking. Huge rec.room and a well laid out camping kitchen. Staff friendly and helpful as well.
Extremely dated room for the price. Took the absolute micky with the rates due to the time of the year but had no choice which obviously they took advantage of. Exposed nails in the floor which we had to try and protect our 17 month old son from. Constant smell of sewerage coming from bathroom. Room hadn’t been cleaned properly. Dust all over the microwave and a someone else’s trimmed beard hairs in the sink. No couch and the chairs in the room were broken and very lacking cutlery for a room with a kitchenette.
We book our accommodation for 5 people and we only got 3 beds, the cabin was in really poor conditions a lot of dust (walls flithy), main bed broken (main solution was to sleep
on the floor when contacted after hours emergency number) and the highlight of our family experience of the service was the extremely racist behavior of the manager on duty. A very poor experience.
Staff were very friendly on check in so I have to commend them on that. But the room we were given was extremely dated. The decor was probably from nearly 30 years ago and in dire need of a facelift. The reclining arm chairs in the room were old and broken and I hate to think of when they were last cleaned, definitely of the vintage era. There were loose nails jutting out which we had to keep our infant from, the floor Lino was cracked, the bed was cheap and uncomfortable and we kept our window closed to stop the smell of sewerage from wafting in. For over $200 per night for an extremely outdated one bedroom cabin they were taking advantage of the Christmas holiday rates which is fine but really the standard of the room should reflect the rate. There were no pictures of this room on the website, the picture of ‘this room’ was considerably different from what we experienced. I could see that we were placed in an older section of the park where the long term residents lived whereas there were newer styles cabins in another section of the park. So if you stay here, try and request a newer cabin and perhaps speak up at the start to be moved (we stayed 3 nights) as we just figured that all the cabins must be of the same standard but nope that’s not the case at all. We were in cabin 302.
We’ve stayed in many tourist parks around the country and this is actually the only time we’ve been disappointed with the quality of accommodation.
I own a cabin, which i bought 3 yrs ago.
I still have to pay site fees, which are very cheap, plus electricity and gas, but my water is free, and i don't have to pay council rates either plus everything is secure
