Highbury Hotel reviews
77Highbury Hotel has been a family favourite for fifty years. Serving staff were kind and efficient. Facility is nice. Menu has sadly been becoming more and more limited over the past years and the most recent menu is even more so. On this trajectory, the menu will be zombie certifiable before we know it.
Linda has to be one of the most welcoming bar tenders going around. We come in weekly and she always is so friendly and warm. Always giving the kids colouring in paper and making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
Amazing service, lovely little play ground! Staff went above and beyond, i ordered the wrong thing (fish grilled not battered) and they replaced it free of change even though it was my mistake!
We will be back!
Food very average 1 hour for food steak was presented 50grams price goes up and portions go down.and staff need a shake up as manager did try his best
The customer service was good the bar staff were extremely friendly, My meal was beef schnitzel, chips, salad which was cooked to perfection, I only waited 15 minutes, Half the table I was sitting at had meals served quickly but unfortunately others it took 1 hr for their meals to be served
We have been to the sports bar regularly and have enjoyed their Pint and Parmi deal which has always been great. Today we were not impressed at all. The schnitzels crumbs were gluggy and they just used a tomato paste for the sauce! The chips were not salted and the salad looked like it had been sitting on the counter all day and had no dressing on it which made it extremely dry.
Very disappointed, and will reconsider going there in future.
Bingo with balls was a hoot! Our meals were fantastic and all the staff were en pointe. The 4 of us have already agreed to do it again
We had a nice meal here. The fish was lovely. Just we thought the menu was a bit limited and didn't have a lot of gluten free options.
Food wasn't up to it's usual standard. A hair was found in the schnitzel and the fish was thin and tasted really old Very dissapointed
Nice atmosphere with friendly staff.
Had shnitty with chips & salad, chips were actually fries (if the menu says 'chips' then serve chips, we can get fries at McDonalds) and only warm at that.
Fries and salad serving size pretty small but the meal overall was quite nice.
Came here for a birthday lunch today, and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of service from all of the floor staff (especially since I asked to switch tables because I was cold and I know that can be painful). Staff were lovely, checking in on the food and drinks. The food was superb, delicious garlic bread, flavoursome and crunchy crumbed parmesan with a tasty cranberry sauce. Partner had the seafood trio, all cooked perfectly, and I had a rare 300g scotch with garlic prawn sauce that was amazing. Wonderful dining experience and we will be back!
Love our local. Fantastic schnitties and great service (particularly from Damon). Kids always love it here.
Adult meals arrived cold. Every meal was cold. Children’s meals didn’t come out and we asked and they said they were coming. 20 minutes later they arrived after we went and asked again. Asked for bread rolls and received them but were cold. Very disappointed and unlikely to revisit. You need to look at the service you are providing when serving meals for the price you charge. Monday nights kids eat free but machines on tables never work.
Revisited the front bar with friends during happy hour. Good choice of beer on tap and tasty Schnitzels. We won a meat tray which contained a mix of good quality snags, loin chops steak and chicken. We'll be back!
Possibly the worst food I’ve ever had. Roast beef cooked to death, vegetables only close to heat, gravy thick and gluggy roast potatoes bollled or microwaved can’t recommend anything
Good sports bar and parmi pint deal good value but the last 2 times the suites were smaller and below average
Salads are getting smaller, schnitzels are getting smaller. Chicken schnitzel was a bit greasy. Highbury is one of the most expensive in the area and needs to lift it’s quality.
It has definitely lifted its game over the last 6mths, my snitty was thick juicy and tasted great, topping was plentiful (garlic prawns) salad fresh chip’s seasoned well, partner loved her snitty and pint lunch deal, great place to eat now, friendly staff, service was good, I really think they have gone from a 4/10 to a 8.5/10
Good food. Steak was a little over cooked but was still soft. Pretty noisy but that's standard for places like this.
Updated review: we have been visiting the lunch menu: graziers beef pie with Mash, (comes with mushy peas for those who like a pie cart experience), husband likes the battered prawns (called something else). Waiting to order watched the drinks waitress make up drinks, wearing gloves and using tongs, including to select lemon wedges from a sealed container. Very sanitary handling of food. Lovely staff, nice clientele, nice and quiet place for a mid week lunch.
