Henley Beach Parish / Our Lady of the Sacred Heart reviews
9Best Catholic Church in Henley Beach… I have always eagerly attended mass here over the years that I visited Adelaide.
I am a practising Catholic and this is my Church. Services offered here is second to none and sacraments are excellent I.e celebration of Mass and Reconciliation.
My husband and I came to the parish in 1959 at that time there was the main big church at Henley Beach and then connected to the Parish included, Blessed Sacrament School Church at Fulham also a church at Grange and another church at West Beach so it is and was a big Parish. Since then those out lying churches have closed and come together to form one big Church.
We had four children that went to Fulham church school, now all grown up.
The Our Lady Sacred Heart Church has a lot going on with youth groups, child care groups and Knit and natter groups. Many groups for the family to get involved in.
The priest are very approachable and very helpful.
Very welcoming parish, I have been attending for around 25 years now. Went once and felt like home so I have stayed.
I love the Henley beach parish they are friendly and welcoming! I started going to the church after doing my marriage course with father John and of course felt in love for him and this community. I go to the services on Sunday morning with my family and there is always kids in the back to play with my daughter so she doesn't complain. I participate in the Alpha group and it is a very fun interesting way to revive your faith and get engaged with different people.
I highly recommend this church for everyone.
Went to a funeral of a member of the Metropolitan Mens Choir of South Australia. Pity about the steep walk up from the car park as I'm disabled - there were only two disabled parking spaces out the front of the church and you guessed it, both were taken.beautiful church inside.
A new look Catholic Curch, Located very close to Henly Beach. Parking space is limited but off-street parking lots are nearby. Parish hall is conveniently located adjacent to the church, if you have to arrange small gatherings. Various church-related activities are conducted for the youth.
This was the chosen parish for for our dear friends funeral service. It is a lovely Chapel with impressive stained glass windows, adornments and furnishings. A lovely, very personal, service was delivered with reverence, respect and personal knowledge of the deceased including his character, his sense of humour and life time of achievements.
After moving house and wanting to find a parish near me, I've now been going to Henley beach parish for a number of months. Parishioners are friendly and welcoming. The service and priests are relatable with where I'm at with my faith at the moment. There's other young parishioners at the church as well, that's really helped me relate back to my faith as well. A very comfortable place for me to pray. I really like how the parish gives back to the community as well, with fundraisers for minority groups, catch up groups for young and old, and programs for parishioners to develop their faith. I've never been part of such and active church community.
