Clean little shop, the 1/4 chicken and chips was the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot.

Great chips and the Italian Scones are the best. You won't get them anywhere else other than port pirie. Not what you think they are. Try them you will love them.

After hearing how good they were from people for a few years I finally got the chance to go there for myself, indeed the chips and gravy are good there.

Best chips in the state, service is always friendly no matter how busy or under pressure they are.

I hadn't been here for ten years so gave it another go as I was driving through Port Pirie. At first I thought the chips were nice but then soon realised they were super oily and not crispy. The batter on the potato fritter flaked right off and tasted too floury, and the dim sim was cooked but for some reason not brown on the outside. Sorry, I think I'll avoid this place on any further trips.

$20 for a bag of warm chips and a tub of Masterfoods powdered gravy. Maybe switch to sweet potato if your potato suppliers are so expensive you have to charge insane prices.

The best chips in Adelaide by far are from Chicken Chef. Let's just say chicken chef chips ain't got nothing on Happy birds. The best chips, EVER.

Absolutely horrified went to feed a family and thought ohh $10 of chips should be plenty got given a bag that fits our hands! Avoid at all costs and go to the other chip shops in Pirie

Love love the food but why are they literally never open, every time I’m come through Pirie they are closed even if it says open on the website? Grrrrr just want a Italian scone

Overall good experience. Folks that got the chicken packs were happy. However the chicken schnitzel burger schnitzel was very very hardened and dry and we had to throw it out.

Only got a chicken cut into quarters but was 10 times better than Woolies or Coles chicken. I'm going back today for the same and going to get some of the salads which look great also and plenty of keto friendly to choose from.

Had a fish pack here with salad the fish was not fresh and the chips all though chunky as I like them were like warm, the tartare sauce tasted and looked like paste. The pasta salad, coleslaw and garden salad was very tasty and fresh had to wait awhile for my order.

Best hot chips around, without a doubt!

One of my 'go to' take away shops. Easy to order, friendly staff, food the whole family can enjoy, reasonably priced, generally busy so best to phone ahead if you know what you want. They are known for the best fat chips in Australia but you also can't go past their Italian scones or great salads.

Happy Birds have the very best chips on the planet. Extra salt. Super soft. Absolutely delicious. It's a 5+ hour return trip every time, but it's worth it every single time.
