Hancock's Lookout reviews
12 Bit underwhelming. The lookout and sunset view itself is nice but the drive there (7km but unsealed and rocky) is not pleasant.
If you can make it up to devil's peak (yes I know it's s hike and not completely comparable), the sunset there is amazing. Same on mount remarkable.
Probably worth it if you're passing by at sunset.
Wouldn't recommend visiting area just for it.
Very serene and beautiful place. It was very windy when we visited. But didn’t disappoint us. Must go place…
Gorgeous camp ground! You can see right over to the other side of the peninsula on a clear day. There's a grumpy old farmer who'll come and tell you that there's no camping allowed but the sign clearly states that camping is allowed for one night only. He has a 'no camping' sign on his fence down the road to try to deter people. Just be respectful and keep the place tidy and hopefully the council will continue to allow everyone to enjoy this beautiful place.
Well worth the drive on a dirt road to the Lookout. The vista is spectacular, even a 2 wheel drive could do the journey on the dirt road, Very peaceful there and easy to just sit and admire the view
Absolutely magic spot for an overnight stay…. Dirt road was in good condition and accessible by caravans and two wheel drive.
An outstanding place to bush camp. Nothing but peace, quiet the odd roo and rubbish bins. The view is so look very special.
Beautiful little spot overlooking the Spencer Gulf. No facilities here so you need to be self contained. Says no fires but everyone had one while we stayed here. Free camp spot with spectacular views. Highly recommend
Long but easy drive into the lookout. Very windy but great views of the ocean and nearby hills. Picnic table available, but no toilets. Cain show distances to distant iconic towns.
Lovely spot in afternoon light and looks west for sunset. Good but dirt road in. Watch for livestock or other animals
Good luck finding a better free campsite in the state. Full 360 degree views.
Just be aware of the owner to the side of the track on the way in. As we were heading in we were abused and sworn at for now reason whatsoever. Other campers behind us had the same. No problems after that though.
This place is amazing if you're ever going around here make sure you do because the view is just breathtaking
Awesome spot sweet look out and free camp spot be great to wake up to! Roads a bit rough going in there is a fence that has a no entry sign, there is a live stock crossing gate that's open next to it dont worry that's fine you just enter its a public location enter. I used a V6 holden sedan and it handled the road well, if there has been lots of rain the road may be a bit boggy in some spots and water over the road.
