Had the best holiday, everything is so well equipped and clean and well maintained. Excellent service and lovely people, we will return and we appreciated that the old dog was allowed to come, thank you. 5 star holiday

We just had the most magnificent holiday on board "Reflections" The houseboat is beautifully appointed and very comfortable, with all of the creature comforts required to make a houseboat holiday easy. 2 bathrooms (+ a toilet out the back) made this easy for two couples, with loads of space. Bill, who took us through the training and orientation of the vessel was meticulous and ensured we were comfortable with everything. It was a wonderful trip and I would absolutely recommend anyone considering a housboat holiday to check out the Griffins Marina vessels - I highly recommend them.

Perfect Holiday.cruising up the river watching the scenery and birdlife as we glided along.
Everything we needed and a lovely houseboat. 'Reflections' Houseboat was perfect for our group of couples. Well equipped and great setup to relax on the river. Miriam and Keith made us feel very welcome and provided great instructions on running the houseboat and always answered our emails. Now hooked on houseboat holidays!
Thankyou for such a lovely relaxing holiday.
Cheers!

We hired "Scallywag" a 2-4 berth Houseboat for a weekend away in February. Dealing with Miriam was so easy to book and get all the information we needed prior to our trip.
Scallywag was such gem, it had everything on board that we needed with a nice new kitchen too.
Keith met us at the marina to go through everything on the boat and he was fantastic and very knowledgeable and thorough.
The stretch of river was so picturesque and there was so many great places to stay. We even got to see an Echidna stroll past one day!
Can't wait to come back again. Highly recommend Griffen's Marina if you are looking to hire a houseboat.

This will be the third time we’ve used the Griffens awesome boats.

Top service every time!

Another fantastic journey onboard ‘scamp’. The TV has been upgraded and now has great reception.

Instructions on how to steer, navigate and moor were excellent. There’s nothing like trying to catch some shrimp and yabbie for the BBQ onboard! The kids loved it!

It’s the most amazing experience. Stunning part of the river.

What a great houseboat experience. Miriam and the team at Griffens Marina Blanchetown is excellent to deal with and very helpful. The Daydreamer has excellent facilities and very spacious. Roomy bedrooms, great bathrooms and wow what a kitchen. The spa on top deck tops off the boat. Can't wait to return for another adventure on the beautiful Murray River with some special friends.

My wife and I just got back from spending 10 nights on the Murray River on the houseboat Scamp which we hired from Griffens Marina at Blanchetown SA. Well what I can say, the service we got from Miriam, Keith and the rest of the team at Griffens was absolutely fantastic. Miriam was very helpful weeks before our trip with giving me valuable information via telephone conversations and emails. Keith was great with the information he gave about the boat and answering my many questions. Without a doubt Griffens Marina is 10/10. Scamp is a fantastic 2 bedroom houseboat with everything you need. They even have rod holders and yabby and shrimp nets on board. It is very easy to handle and is like having a 2 bedroom apartment on the water but being able to moor and have a camp fire with still having the luxuries of home. As stated we had 10 nights on the river and some might say that's too long but believe me when we took the boat back I would have been happy to do another 10 nights. We managed to get as far as Wakerie and back with short stops at Morgan and Caudo winery. Morgan is approximately 7 hours from Griffens. It has a IGA if you have forgotten something and is worth spending an hour looking around and learning about it's history. It was pretty busy in it's heyday. There is a lookout a short uphill walk and old historic railway buildings and the huge historic wharf. Between Griffens and Morgan there are plenty of places to moor. Caudo winery is approximately 4.5 hours from Morgan and is worth having lunch there. From Caudo winery it will take about 6 hours to Waikerie and has a Woolworths and a BWS and your can moor there for up to 48 hours. If you don't want to moor at Waikerie overnight then there are a number of spots at Remco Point about 1.5 hours from Waikerie. If you are only hiring the boat for 7 nights then I recommend that you only go as far as Caudo winery. If you go to Waikerie it will take you about 40 hours return trip depending on the boat you are hiring. That means you would need to drive the boat 5 to 6 hours a day Also be warned that between Caudo winery and Lock 2 there are a couple of sections on the river that are shallow and you need to follow your charts and depth sounder to a T. I had no issues but apparently some have. If going to Waikerie you will need to go through Lock 2 which will take about 10 to 20 minutes. The Lock operates from 8am to 11.30am and 1.00pm to 4.30pm. You will need to call the Lockmaster about 20mins before you arrive and Griffens will give you this number before you leave. There is a spot you can tie up if you arrive during non operating hours. I found that there were no spots to moor from the Cadell ferry and just before Morgan so always plan your trip each day and take note of the kilometer marks along the Adelaide side of the river which are blue and white and compare them on your Murray River Pilot charts. Try and travel during the earlier part of the day so you are not trying to find a spot to moor in the last couple of hours of daylight. Believe me the last thing you want to be doing is trying to find a spot to moor in the dark. Besides you are not allowed to travel at night. This is the second time I have hired a houseboat on the Murray and can honestly say that it is the most relaxing holiday you can have. You don't have to travel too far if you don't want, you may just want to stop in a couple of places and just have nanny naps, fish or go for walks it's up to you. You will love it. The section of the river we did this time was by far the quietest and the bird life and scenery is incredible. I hope this has been helpful and in closing I would like to give a huge thank you to Miriam, Keith and the rest of the team at Griffens Marina for the fantastic service and a wounderful holiday you guys are 10/10. Thank you regards Gary Hooper.

Beautiful part of the river, winter on the river is a special time. Spent a week on the Scamp houseboat. What a great boat and very well presented. Loved it so much we have already booked again for next year.
