Green Tea House reviews
68 First time eating here, me & the hubby decided on an impromptu lunch atmosphere was pretty relaxed we ordered a nice bottle of sparking Shiraz 2 entrees & 2 mains
Entree -
Southern style pork springs rolls & Minced Pork Belly Meatballs with Sichuan Sauce
Mains - Vietnamese diced ‘shaking’ Beef stir- fried with capsicum topped with roasted peanuts & cracked Pepper &
Crispy marinated Chicken
I also ordered a small side of rice for my beef dish but if I’m honest you could eat it without all 4 of our dishes were full of flavour and would definitely recommend this place if ever your in Glenelg
I love this restaurant and their food. I have taken many friends there to dine in.today I made a mistake and had something different to my noodle dish. I decided to try pork spring rolls and chicken satay. The rolls we ok but my chicken was so dry I could hardly cut through it. My disappointment comes from the reaction when I told them about the dry chicken he apologised and said hopefully they'll be better next time I'm not sure now if there will be an next time
Have no idea why my friend and I haven’t been here before …. I would give this place more than five stars - the flavours of the food made my mouth water.
Even though it was a busy Friday night, the friendly staff fit us in (it helps if there’s only two of you). We asked to be seated down the back where it’s quieter - Glenelg on a Friday evening can get quite rowdy! But the sounds that we mainly heard was the enticing sizzle of the pans in the kitchen.
Staff were friendly and welcoming- water appeared on the table straight away. The place was lively and there were many others enjoying their meal.
So many gluten free options- I truely got excited. I think we ordered too much but every bite was relished.
Bahn Khot was an amazing little dish - traditional mini rice pancakes with shrimp and minced pork with a slightly spicy fish dipping sauce- this is one dish I recommend because it’s quite different- the flavourings in this were so delicate but the taste was both delicate and full of punch. The little rice pancakes were a little crunchy in the outside, but soft and fluffy.
Xiao Hat Dieu was my friend’s favourite - she loved the taste of the stir fry and the still crunchiness of the vegetables together with the cashew nuts.
I absolutely loved the peanut satay sauce that came with the chicken skewers - this should be bottled and sold separately.
We ended off the meal with the Nem Nuong (the roll your own cold rolls) with the grilled pork belly balls - I actually put the peanut satay sauce on this as well as the sauce that came with it.
All the dishes were packed with taste, and the dishes came out at a timely manner, especially considering how busy they were.
So delicious- recommend this restaurant highly.
Sad that we've only just discovered this amazing Vietnamese restaurant. The food is incredible and very fresh ingredients, so do yourself a favour and try this place you won't regret it
Our go to place for Asian food, mangolian hotplate was delicious and stir fry noodles cooked perfectly. Service was excellent.
Really tasty Viet food. Inside & outside seating. Recommend.
Would have been nice to have had a follow up after food was presented to see if everything was ok and if we wanted any more drinks.
Don’t you want to make more money? Had to go inside to get more drinks.
Favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Adelaide by far, visit every 1-2 weeks. Pho is the best, but everything is great
Besides 666 beers not available due to supply issues.great fresh cooked food here.you gotta try
So enjoyed the food and the friendly service last night. Visiting from Melbourne and came here on our last visit to Adelaide. Will definitely be back!
This place is regularly on rotation and while always delicious and good service/quick food, often there’s little pieces of some mince meat in the tofu stir fries
The food was pretty good except the young male waiter said he would put his “nuts” in my sisters food. This was not funny as my sister is anaphylactic to nuts.
What a hidden little gem, and who would have thought there would be awesome Vietnamese in Glenelg? ! Puts Sydney to shame.
Shout out to the owner… let us know when you branch out to stand up
I got number 14 take away. Best soup, hit the exact craving I was after. It was all seperate so you could combine it and have it be fresh. Packaged great so there was 0 spillage. The flavouring was just heaven on earth.
Thank you!
An amazing place to eat with great food, friendly staff and a brilliant atmosphere.
I come here as often as possible
Ummm don’t know what happened but we made a booking for Monday dinner and the restaurant was CLOSED. There was a hand written sign with trading days different to the website. Our dinner reservation was made over the phone with staff 3 days prior which adds to my confusion. Definitely wasn’t a fault our end as another group came with a reservation as well.
Not good enough Green Tea House! The booking was for a birthday dinner with family that had driven down from Mt Barker. We had to settle for a pub meal.
Amazing food and incredible service- they literally went out of their way to make me feel special on my birthday. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Love Vermicelli noodles like me? …. Then try something different for a change, like number 43 - Goi Tom Ga …. Tender chicken and fresh prawns salad with tossed Vietnamese herbs do yourself a favour
Excellent Vietnamese food. Our favorites were "bo la lot", "cha gio ha noi" and "chao tom". If you like jackfruit, definitely recommend "Sinh to mit"
Just Excellent……. Service, food and atmosphere made it a great choice. So good we are going back tomorrow night
I ordered the chicken curry which was quite good. Careful not to fall into the same trap I did.
The rice is not included in the price the curry and I ended up purchasing the most expensive rice on the planet- $7 for a small serving.
If you are getting takeaway, I highly recommend you cook your own rice at home.
I would’ve otherwise rated my experience here quite highly, I hope to see a more sincere approach in the future. Currently I feel that they intentionally put their customers in a false sense of security as to how much they going to pay for the curry.
Just in response to the owners reply.
Sorry to break you delusion, but your rice was very ordinary and not worth $7 for a single serving.
This is a stingy act of deception and you know it.
I have noticed that the low ratings regarding your restaurant are not about food but about you were the way your staff handle customers.
I wonder if restaurant is in the best hands?
