Grand Hotel reviews
25Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Honestly it was not as bad as I thought. We were worried about the noise and late night party during Christmas period but it turned out to be that it was quiet at night. I had really good sleep here. Shower facility was also good, I don’t know if we were lucky because the most of ppl here take shower in the morning. It’s a bit tricky to find where the entrance is but we got assistance from the pub staff who was lovely. Fan needs to be turned on so the air can circulate around which helps sleeping. It’s a shame I didn’t have chance to enjoy pub meal here. In general, we enjoyed our stay here
Wasn't expecting much but I was definitely proven wrong.
Service was prompt and very friendly and the food was amazing.
S&P Calamari consisted of 2 full hoods of calamari and barramundi was also very well cooked.
And very well priced too. Thankyou
Amazing food, very friendly staff always smiling. Reno's have made this place even more inviting than ever and I highly recommend visiting
The hotel is a magic place where warm on chilly days and cools on burning outside! The food is excellent (somehow the chef is good in every cuisine) with friendly staff; we were lucky to stay here to have welcomed 2023
This was my first time staying in a pub & Grand Hotels a beautiful one to stay in. The rooms are really clean, theres extra bedding or towels if you need it, clean toilets and showers that provide shampoo, conditioner & body wash. The staff are nice and helpful too! The balcony is also beautiful, especially at sunset.
We passed by Millicent on our bicycle tour to Adelaide when the weather turned ugly. We stopped here for a night and found it very comfortable, clean and perfect for a good nights rest. The shared bathroom/shower was newly renovated and clean. Freshly paint and decorated rooms/hallways. The lounge area was relaxing and provided coffee and teas which we appreciated. The front desk employee was super helpful and friendly. Will definitely recommend.
Super cute historical pub / hotel / bottle shop in the middle of Millicent. We made a last minute booking and we were greeted and shown our room by the super polite and professional staff in a neatly renovated space. Complete with gorgeous sunset from the balcony!
We stopped for dinner.
Friendly staff, very tasty meals and desserts. Serving size is not too generous but prices are reasonable, order entree and dessert if you are really hungry.
The historic interior has been preserved with high ceiling and large windows.
We will visit again when traveling to or through the area.
Spent the night, myself, son and partner. Was a great place to sleep, def felt very old which we loved! I def had a weird encounter which was cool and a bit spooky! Meals were awesome and the hosts were legends and very accommodating.
This place has a vego/vegan menu! And the cauli schnitzel is bloody yum. Chicken schnit also yum. Good chippies and the house wine is also great.
We had 2-night stay in this lovely heritage hotel. The staff is lovely, the room is comfortable and clean. The location is great.
The only issue is the share bathroom and shower for men and women. I felt uncomfortable to take a shower while the next cabin is a man. I hope the manager fix this issue. Apart from that, everything was great and I recommend it
My favourite part of travelling is the people you meet and of course.good food, and the Grand hotel combines both those so well that its been my favourite pub in my travels around Australia. Once we found the Grand hotel we ate there every night. I will have to say that the pubs customer experience and atmosphere really does hinge on Jaquintas friendliness and personal touch. The one night she wasn't on the bar it didn't have the same feel however apparently Jaquinta is there most days so you are bound to see her if you stay a couple of days in millicent. The food was restaurant quality, the snitzels should be world famous, and the pasta was top notch. Jaquinta introduced us to a local from Millicent who was able to give us advice on fishing, the best places to visit and just a good chin wag.so the Grand Hotel has everything you would hope for in your travels.
We loved this hotel. Rooms renovated and very cosy. Lounge stocked and comfortable. Bathroom clean with plenty of hot water. Food delicious. We also won at the pokies! Our stay was $70 a night and well worth it. We would stay again and we would recommend it.
Brilliant atmosphere. Delicious food. Super friendly staff. To top it all off, a Friday night raffle draw with some awesome prizes up for grabs. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
Absolutely wonderful stay at this old hotel. Food was awesome, the staff were excellent, helpful and engaging and all at a budget price. Recommend
We called in for tea during our holiday, and found the meals were nice and the service was friendly. We would go for a meal again there if we are travelling through.
Super friendly staff, cheap and comfortable rooms, tasty food and in a super cool old building.
It was the cheapest option to stay the night in Millicent. And when we learnt it was "haunted" we were so keen! Upstairs does look a little like the hotel in THE SHINING. Staying here.wasn't great. Very uncomfortable bed and shared bathroom in the corridor. You get what you pay for I guess. Was extremely busy on Friday night, lined up at the bar for 15 mins and lost patience and went to bottle shop next door.
Had the schnitzels and was very impressed. Nothing special but got all the essential rights. Good portion size and crunchy. More importantly the two ladies on the bar were friendly, welcoming and made the night great!
We ordered 2 meals (which were actually okay), but had to wait over 1 and a quarter hour for. We asked several times for updates and they said "soon". Eventually they advised they had a function on and they had priority. Another table of 2 near us had the same wait time. They were given a free bottle of wine to apologise, but also had to ask several times for the meals. We received nothing as compensation which really rubbed it in. Food okay, service horrible. We stayed clear of this place for the remaining 2 nights and went elsewhere. Will stay clear on our future trips which we have already planned.
