Glenelg Golf Club reviews
50Great place to play golf. Wonderful facilities. Exceptionally friendly members and staff from the pro shop, hospitality and the office team. A must play experience in Adelaide.
Good food and excellent service, I really enjoyed the hospitality of the people here. And great golf course
Chose the Club to celebrate Father’s Day.
The venue/ function/ restaurant space is good, great views of the course, but unfortunately the food offered in the form of a buffet was not as good as the price offered.
A rather unusual choice of buffet dishes, Sausages? , pulled lamb and ribs, none of which were bad on their own, apart from not being very warm, didn’t really complement each other.
Far too much coleslaw and endless potato salad and very bland fried rice which didn’t taste of anything Asian or really go with curried fish, possibly Barramundi were also a strange choice.
Unfortunately the surprise activities or raffles offered as part of the package, did not eventuate.
The wine list was not particularly extensive, unless ordered by the bottle and the choice of Alcohol Free beers, wine or sparkling very limited.
At $65.00 a head plus Drinks, for three people, coupled with the limited buffet options, it didn’t really offer good value.
Sadly, despite the magnificent location, I don’t think we will be returning anytime soon.
Reasonable, but could do so much better.
So nice to visit for lunch and to visit after 20 years to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary where we held our wedding reception.
We participated in a celebratory lunch of an international body - it was their centenary. The site has excellent parking and easy access to the facility. The dining room was warm and comfortable, it was well lit and it had good acoustics. The wine list is substantial and choices were readily available. The set menu gave choices for each course with a huge slice of a Centenary Cake being the dessert. Service was discrete and attentive. The speeches were well amplified for those of us hard of hearing and everyone seemed involved. Sadly we aren't likely to attend the next centenary lunch.
A very enjoyable lunch with friends, with good value menu, and a nice outlook over the golf course
Played at Glenelg during the week of the LIV golf tournament.
It is an extremely steep price to pay. 350 AUD for a round with no carts.
The fairways and greens were in extremely good nick - but honestly feel like the price is not worth it.
Additionally, we were waiting on every single tee even as a four-ball taking our time.
We talked to a coach at another course who mentioned Glenelg chose to close the course to members for the week, cranked up the green fees (doubled), and packed the tee times.
Another thing to mention, the range balls were literally the worst I have ever used.
Played another round that week at Mount Compass for 80 AUD (less than a quarter of the price), wayyyy better value for money.
Overall sentiment: way too pricey.
Had dinner here for my mother's birthday with the family. Food was excellent and very delicious. Beautiful views to the very well kept golf course.
Went to a Travel Associates function at The Glenelg Golf Club last night. Wonderful venue with beautiful views over the golf course. Amenities great and the food was fabulous. A very enjoyable and informative night. Well done Travel Associates Glenelg and Glenelg Golf club
Course is stunning in every way. This is full PGA tour level perfection.
It is very expensive though!
Wonderful course, even on a windy day which had had a weekend of heavy rain. The dining room was lovely and warm with cold beer and good food.
Blatantly jumping the hour long airport queue with your 20 person yellow hatted junior golf team, what a team. Poor form.
Went to the golf club for my mum and sisters birthday recently we had a fantastic meal the atmosphere was awesome and the staff are very friendly and helpful found it to be cheaper than the pubs, planning to go back very soon
We had our annual dinner at the Glenelg Golf Course last night. Lisa and Tash, the events team were great to work with. They were flexible and very willing to please. The food was excelent, with options beautifully cooked. We selected a 3 course meal with limited menu choices, for $66 per head, and $22 for under 13 year olds.very nice facilities, with an ideal outlook.
A good challenge for all golfers. Beautifully presented by the ground staff, great clubhouse facilities and welcoming members.
Fairways and practice areas beautifully presented and maintained. Clubhouse has good views across fairways and part of hills zone.
Booked a function here for a big dinner.
The functions coordinator Lynn was absolutely brilliant.
It's a beautiful room, with amazing views.
Very reasonable prices too in today's world.
Attended for the Luna new year lunch. Beautiful venue, amazing food and wine. Excellent value for money! Will be back!
An amazing course layout and look out for those fairway bunkers you can tell the members fees are being put back into the club which is always nice to see a golf club wanting to create the best experience possible for it's members. Great staff and a fantastic all round experience.
A lovely venue to work at with my photo booth. Beautiful set up and the waitressing staff are so friendly. Also, their food was absolutely delicious, so big compliments to the chef. Very accommodating with dietary requirements too. Highly recommend to any couple considering the GGC as their wedding venue or dining in general.
