Glen Ewin Estate reviews
55 Had my wedding ceremony here, and the place is just absolutely beautiful. After the ceremony we walked over to the restaurant and we were greeted so kindly by the lady working, and offered a seat and some drinks. The view was gorgeous and the atmosphere was just lovely.
We had a little mis communication on the day about the song timing for walking down the aisle, and the cue for my bridesmaids and groomsmen, but apart from that it all went very well.
The most wonderful Sunday Brunch fabulous food great coffee amazing gin latte and the most lovely staff
So disappointed with the services. We were 3 of us and ordered 4 small dishes, 2 mains, 2 side. Staff told us we had to order one more main dishe which we didnt need and I have limited food allowance due to my health issues. Lady didnt accept and in the end, we ordered 3 mains and couldn't eat even half of dishes as it was too much.
Understand the minimum spend policy, but place like this should have more flexibility specially to the people like me has health issues.made me feel so sad so does my friends. Unprofessional customer service. Never going back.
Visited on Sunday 28th May Lunch
Ordered food: Homemade dumplings, OBE steak, Affogato with Fig Gin, Fig almond cake
The wrap on the dumplings was soft and easy to eat, fillings were flavoursome
The organic steak was tasty and different to the usual steaks I had eaten
The Affogato was amazing and with the combination of the espresso shot and gin, combines the flavour altogether making it an awesome dish
The almond cake was soft and melts in your mouth and the caramelized fig was easy to chew and eat
Great food, good wines, pleasant atmosphere, agreed way to dine and relax for an afternoon. Don't forget the gin flight.
I have been to a few functions in the past and they have been exceptional. The food, wines and staff make it a wonderful place to visit.
Amazing food and hospitality. Relaxing and very pleasant surroundings. Fantastic experience. Easy drive.
Loved the food!
Perhaps some extended blinds to prevent the breeze coming through the wooden slats would be an idea for the cooler days/evenings.
We recently had our wedding at The Gatehouse and could not recommend Glen Ewin highly enough. Katie our event manager was welcoming, kind and extremely organised and made the whole process so smooth. The rest of the staff were super friendly and accomodating. The grounds were beautiful and the food was fantastic. We could not have asked for a better wedding venue!
Simple food done well, lovely views. Great alternative than going to a pub for lunch, attentive staff
Went fig picking with friends, which was really lovely, the orchard is really nice with the different types of figs clearly signed. $5 entey and $15 per kilo or figs.
We then went into the restaurant for lunch, service was amazing and the staff were friendly. There are several vegan and vego options available on their menu.
My friend and I shared the fig sourdough, potatoes, and homemade dumplings.
All three of these items were absolutely delicious!
The dumplings had some cruncy kale with some greens and a peanut based sauce with some chilli
The sourdough was delicious with the sweet touch of the figs throughout the loaf, and the oil and dukka matched it perfectly.
The potatoes were cooked amazingly and had a good seasoning.
Definitely recommend.
I went for fig picking and loved it. The figs were $15/kg and there were plenty to pick. You're given a cardboard crate that you take home with you. They also have their amazing fig gin that you can taste and buy.
Beautiful setting, breakfast is served as platters so was really not practical. It limited choice and was confusing. It was also cold when it was served. There is clearly a need for more staff, we were advised only when we arrived at 9.30am that we would need to leave at 11 am. However, our food was not served until 10.40!
A very pleasant Adelaide Hills venue in a beautiful setting. Great service and food and cellar door.
Last weekend I attended the Mothers Day High Tea event and it was fantastic! The staff were friendly, helpful and provided a great service. My family thoroughly enjoyed the day, with live music and a buzzing atmosphere. The food was DELICIOUS and they were able to cater for all options!
It was a fabulous afternoon out and I recommend for all ages!
Had a Mother’s Day lunch there. Great to start with - well organised directions and parking. Staff were friendly. However we ordered extra chips for a child and initially told they were too busy. We asked another staff member and they said we could have them - we had to chase up the order and waited an hour for them!
The venue was lovely but the main meal was disappointing - barramundi was dry and the salad was just lettuce with hardly any dressing. Rice wasn’t too bad but fairly tasteless. I’m sure the invitation had included a glass of bubbles for mothers but didn’t see any sign of that and only just managed to get a coffee. My son paid a lot of money for the meal for our family and I’m very grateful to him but sadly prob won’t go back there.
Attended the high tea for Mother’s Day and was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The sparkling wine that they served was lovely though.
We visited the place with a group of friends for fig picking. Although it was mentioned on the venue's website that a good amount of figs are ripen and ready to be picked, there was very little amount ready in comparison to previous years.
Absolutely spectacular location. We went here to check out the wedding venue for our daughters wedding. It is fantastic. The staff member that showed us around was helpful and I formative. We were very impressed with all.
Always a pleasure at Glen Ewin Estate figgery. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the food is great, views are picturesque and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Known for their fig gins, the gin flight is a great way to try them all. Suggest the affogato as a delicious end.
