First Drop Wines, Home of the Brave, Wine and Tapas Room reviews
43Really easy going cruisy environment, excellent food and friendly staff. Wines are absolutely awesome with some amazing single vineyard varieties. Our host Nigel really new his stuff!
8 of us rocked up with no booking, they were very accomodating. The food was great and the drinks flowed. The service was also very good and the staff were excellent.
Nigel is outstanding!
His knowledge of wine, his presentation and calm relaxed approach, works very well.
In addition he has a naturally warm and friendly disposition. A genuine guy.
Many thanks
We were mid tour and pressed for time, but Paris still was able to sort us out with a tasting and all questions answered. We arranged a few bottles to be shipped home and tied off our time there with a sample of their top end The Cream. Can’t recommend enough, 10/10.
We loved our afternoon at First Drop. The lady that explained the wines to us was very friendly and fun, going above and beyond with an extra little taste or two. They were super kind to our kids as well which always makes wine tasting better!
AND the wine was delicious!
Excellent range of quality wines on offer and don't go past the ‘Dos Por Ciento’ shiraz
Wines are outstanding - you MUST try The Cream. Food blew us away. Super friendly service, Nigel was amazing!
If you are visiting the Barossa Valley, do yourself a favor and give this place a visit. Loved the quirky & funky feel, delicious wine and amazing customer service by Nigel. The fireplace just tops it off!
Nigel was very friendly, made us feel relaxed, welcome and sure does know about his wines. You can tell that Nigel is just so genuinely passionate about his job- his great depth of knowledge about wine is admirable.
We will definitely be back to try the food, we have only heard great things.
Keep up the great work
Thank-you.
Must try the tapas menu, with delicious cheese, prawns and lamb with perfectly matching wines. The staff are flexible with wine tasting so you know which wine to take home with you. Definitely worth the visit
One of my our favourite cellar doors in South Australia! The crew and wines are fantastic! A gem of a place nestled between the big boys!
As locals we like to try and get too as many different places as possible. We have been meaning to come here for so long and at last we made it. Wow what a great spot, this will become a regular haunt. Great Tapas menu, amazing selection of wine, the latest vintage Chardonnay is a lovely drop and not too heavy on the oak. Their signature Mother's Milk Shiraz is a beautifully smooth Shiraz blending grapes from 3 different Barossa areas. Last but not least, lovely friendly staff, we WILL be back soon.
We had a Tasting and bought a few bottles of interesting, different varietals of grapes. Quite quirky decor. Interstate tapas style menu which we will return to try out another time!
Nice wines, all wines where nice, especially like the "Mothers Milk" this would make a great gift.
Friendly chatty staff, good range of interesting variatels and blends, great range of tapas plates to share.thoroughly revokes for a relaxed lunch
My favourite place to stop when in the Barossa, and my favourite wines to take home! The food is always amazing and brilliant service! Couldn't recommend more!
If you do anything in The Barossa do this experience! The staff are amazing, the service is outstanding, the food is beyond expectations and to top it off the wine is fabulous! Must try ‘The Matador’.
Our team member - Paris - was just the best! The staff they have encroach from the winery to help out are amazing!
Could not recommend this place enough!
Fabulous must visit place in the Barossa. You may not get the Vally views and country feel, but you get very decent wines, super friendly staff and delicious tapas. They are friendly to dogs also. All in all, great for tastings and lunch
Casey was a joy to our group. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The wines cater to a vast taste so you will find something to your taste.
One of the best places to drop into when you’re in the Barossa. Whether you want a tasting of some unique grape varieties and brilliant value wine, or delicious tapas lunch, you can’t be disappointed.
I take visitors every time we go to the Barossa now and everyone is always blown away.
Amazing experience and value. A true hidden gem of the Barossa.
Always love a quick tapas lunch with friends or colleagues here. Well priced, I adore the Haloumi.and to cap if off a fabulous selection of botinque wine. A winner everytime:)
