Fat Beagle Coffee Shop

The other cafe in Panneshaw that I come across and decided to try. Has a better selection of cafe food.

On our initial island visit, we stopped by for coffee and were pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was exceptionally fresh and generously portioned. The coffee was top-notch, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We loved it so much that we returned before leaving the island. A delightful experience!

Had the yummiest burgers today before we headed into the ferry. Fresh, flavoursome and the staff were delightful. Highly recommend.

We ate here several times during our Penneshaw stay. The service was consistently friendly and efficient and the food was delicious.

Delicious! Lovely venue and lovely food…. Enjoyed a caramel milkshake and a loaded hotdog, my wife loved her hot dog as well. First hot dog we have eaten in years and now I want more. Lovely and fresh heated crunchy roll and condiments. Delicious. Photo shows I ate it all! Lol

My friend and I came here for lunch on my last day at KI. The food was absolutely amazing and such a beautiful area but the service from the older lady was super disappointing. We asked for hash browns and she rudely says no, she put the milkshake on the table which tasted like milk and ice cream (don’t know if she did this on purpose) and makes a noise to herself as she’s walking away. We were going to complain in person because of how disappointed we were in one persons attitude. Such a shame I didn’t get her name.

It’s such a shame because this little cafe is a beautiful place to go and eat but the older lady that works there really brings the place down with her terrible customer service and her horrible attitude towards no locals! The food was delicious and milkshakes (after being remade by someone else) were beautiful. She really brings the place down and made what could’ve been and enjoyable lunch turn into a horrible experience!

Not sure if there's been a change in management or the staff were having a bad day but it was a disappointing and lacklustre second experience.
Ordered 2 hotdogs with the lot and then waited 25 minutes for it before we noticed tables that were served after us getting their meals ahead of us.
Had to go ask for the 'lost' hot dogs.they'd been sitting there behind the counter for ages but no one told us. Needless to say, hot dogs were lukewarm and the needless waiting game was a turnoff.

Very disappointed

My E&b roll was delicious. Coffees great. But I had finished my meal before my partner's had arrived.
Her poached eggs were hard/overcooked.not good at all.

Great cafe near the KI ferry terminal. The bacon and egg wrap is quite hefty and filling. This is a popular destination for those traveling by ferry.

Their food was great, service quite good, atmosphere was nothing bad, but not particularly standout either. Pricing was fair too.

Looks like a new owner who is trying very hard to provide a good experience. Very clean. Good cheeseburger. No alcohol and for some reason no chips. Jade our server was lovely and helped us choose the Shy Wren for dinner, which was excellent. Thank you Jade. We will be back.

The coffee was disgusting! It was bitter and tasteless. I am a barista and your coffee seriously tasted as if the machine needed a decent flush or it isn't being tamped properly. Staff in need of some work, not polite or happy. All I wanted was a decent coffee.

If you come to Kangaroo Island, be sure to go for a great coffee and breakfast at FatBeagle!

The coffee was great here waited for the food for 30min. Rest everything was fine staff is respectful.

Very nice place with a lot of attention to detail. Good food and very helpful and caring staff when asking about dietary requirements very good handling of a group of rude costumers eating their own food even after asking to please not do so. Thanks for a good breakfast!

Super cute and welcoming! Lovely staff, food and coffee! There was a rude group of people who brought their own food and ate it inside the cafe without asking. After staff politely asked that they don't consume it inside the cafe, the group all left 1 star reviews. Which is totally unfair and doesn't reflect how great the The Fat Beagle is.

Great service, top coffee and a warm enjoyable dining room. Felt very comfortable being here. The people that left the previous reviews today were eating their own food and when asked not to do so got upset. Unfair review and a ridiculous thing to do in any place that serves their own food and drink. The owners were lovely to speak with and very accommodating with couch cushions and board games at the ready for you to enjoy and remember your experience.

Good coffee and warm atmosphere. Great spot when on a budget or with a small family. I was shocked at the great value.
The lovely garden and dog drink bowl are nice inviting feature as well.

We had a delicious breakfast and coffee here, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary requirements during a very busy period.
The staff also dealt very professionally with a table of extremely rude customers who brought and were eating their own food inside the cafe after being politely asked not to do so (who have left very unfair bad reviews below).
Had a great morning and will definitely be back!
