Exchange Specialty Coffee reviews
54 The food was yummy and well done. We had the French toast and the karaage chicken.
However, the staff tend to rush past you and if you do finally get their attention they sometimes act like you’re an inconvenience even if you’re just asking for some water or cutlery. Not all staff were like that though. Overall it was nice.
I chose to visit this coffee shop due to its reputation for outstanding local coffee.
The staff demonstrated exceptional friendliness, the establishment maintained a commendable level of cleanliness, and the atmosphere of the cafe was pleasant.
I ordered takeaway for amond croissant, extra shots in a large cappuccino and also a regular long black, which presented a delightful balance of acidity and flavor.
However, the cappuccino experience took an unexpected turn the milk was too bubble, seemed to clash with the coffee, and the absence of chocolate powder left it reminiscent of a peculiar long macchiato.
Nevertheless, the overall ambiance and service added a positive touch to the overall experience.
Great food and service. Accommodate for group of 7 and staff very nice same as food. As chef and work more then decade for food industry I really recommends this plce.
Food was exceptional quality and range of options; service professional, prompt and friendly.great place to go for breakfast/ brunch.
2nd experience here ruined it for me.
Thought I'd found a the best coffee in the city.
So went back the next morning and was abruptly greeted by the girl behind the machine.she seemed annoyed. I asked for my coffee the way I had ordered it the day before (which was outstanding). Was told she won't do a restretto with their coffee, it's not roasted for that, and she won't serve something that doesn't taste good.then she just stared at me.then argued with me about my bean choice. Ongoing conversation was met with the same abrasive and degrading attitude. Was one of the most unpleasant and abrasive experiences I've had ever in a cafe.
In the end I was forced to order my coffee with a full length shot which tasted acidic and harsh, rather than the request I asked for.
I won't be back.such a shame
Trying this place out after our weekly run and it did not dissapoint. Luckily we do not have to wait for a table.
The Crab Scramble looks small but it was very hearty. The Spiced Chicken Bowl has good depth of flavour – with its combination of savoury and fresh vegetables.
Nice coffee and vibe. Friendly staff and delicious food. I would suggest to add one or two more vegan options to the menu. Recommended!
Superb ever changing menu of coffees on offer in a range of brew styles with some core favourites that remain staple on the menu. Coffee menu provided is rarely the same as what's actually on offer though.
Food is superb and very fairly priced - especially given the location. Plate sizes are good, nothing I've had had made me feel skimped out on in size or quality. Options for all dietary requirements are available.
Regular specials also keep the menu fresh and interesting.
All staff I've interacted with are fantastic, with a couple of notable standouts among them.
Being coming to the exchange since 2014. Still my favorite place in Adelaide and all was my first recommendation for visitors.
Exchange Specialty Coffee was amazing. The food was to absolutely die for, the service super friendly and prompt to provide drinks & food as required. I had the Chilli Mushrooms with an Iced Latte and both the food and drink were out of this world. The Pea Hummus on the Chilli Mushrooms, served up with perfectly cooked eggs leaves me drooling now a few days late just thinking of returning. The coffee here is on a level of its own and I personally believe it rivals and beats basically any other coffee I have had around Adelaide to be honest.
If anyone is after amazing food or coffee I recommend Exchange Specialty Coffee to all, it is definitely the place to be & see.
Always stop over here when in the East End. Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had, and their carrot cake is a big highlight.
Absolutely wonderful coffee! Nestled in a beautiful laneway of inner-city Adelaide, you'll enjoy beautiful scenery and great coffee. Service was attentive and incredibly welcoming. A must!
Nice and smooth coffees. My kids really enjoyed their scones with jam and cream. Thank you for giving us a nice start of our day trip in Adelaide.
They may call themselves specialty coffee (and the beans are sure) but over extracted bitter coffee is still bad. Ive been so many times always trying to see what the hype is over and I still haven't had a well extract coffee. Actually there was one what was decent but the milk was like 30 degrees
Don't believe the hype - over rated.
Good little place with reasonable prices, good food and drink and excellent table service, even at the busiest of times. Perfect for a casual catch up or brunch in the city
I highly recommend this place, PLENTY of options for vegans (which is hard to find). I went there with my boyfriend (meat eater) and we both loved it!
There’s normally some waiting to get a seat (15-20min) as it seems to be pretty busy.
Iced coffee was average but the food was DELICIOUS. Also great value for money ($48 for 2 people, food +drinks)
They don’t take reservations, only walk in.
Empty plates are the best proof of how great it was!
Lovely cafe with super friendly staffs. We enjoyed the food and coffee here. Will definitely come back again.
Pretension is light, as is the delicious food (though heavier options are assuredly available) - recommend on these credentials alone. Further, the coffee is nigh on sublime and the architecture, decor and furniture leaves incredibly little to be desired: a fine place to be, sit, think, talk, socialise and contemplate things. The atmosphere here is good.
I don’t know how much was pastry and coffee…. I just ordered one normal croissant and small coffee but it cost $11.60.
If the coffee was $4.5, croissant is $7.1? I think it’s pretty expensive and tastes average. Especially coffee was nothing special….
Very relaxed atmosphere with a nice touch of green indoor plants. Great service with helpful staff explaining the coffee. The filter coffee was excellent and you could really enjoy the different tones within the coffee. The menu was modest which was great as it wasn't overwhelming. The chilli scramble with procuito was great.
Do yourself a favour and go visit!
