EverCream Gelato reviews
45Flavours were watered down and liquorice ice cream tasted more like coffee than liquorice. I am sure that this is an isolated incident, however
Yay New owners! SUPER friendly
Yummy icecream (almond and fig Is my recommendation) and good coffee!
Go and try for yourself.
*Must eat in Hahndorf, South Australia German Village*
Prezel A$4.0
Caramel fudge sauce dip +A$1.5
The EverCream I eat here is actually the most famous gelatosBut because the weather is too cold, I eat the left Prezel a Prezel is warm, softer than expected and not hard It has a salty seasoning, so I add caramel It’s a good match with some sauce?
Durian ice cream in this shop is so good its unmatched! We also tried the mango sorbet the tanginess was perfect and you can still chew on mango bits. You can taste quality in their products and the owner makes the gelatos himself and will gladly give you a taste to change your mind otherwise. Also love the warm welcoming smiles and greetings when we entered the store.
Their Musang durian ice and strawberries are the best. They made everything fresh and quality. The female owner wasn’t very friendly, but after a good chat with the male owner we will definitely come back for their ice cream.
Durian ice cream was so good! Owner makes it himself. A must try when you are in Hahndorf!
Average ice-cream (which I usually wouldn’t bother writing a review for). But they also only allow ONE taster… sure, limit them, but maybe two? Just so you can, you know, compare… which is the whole point of a taster. Also I went in with my friend and the girl serving us made us share a tasting stick. My taster on one end and hers on the other… probably not best COVID practice. Won’t be back.
We went to this shop to buy a hot dog and a cone for my kids. My son didn’t like the sauerkraut under the sausage. I asked the lady at the shop for a folk so I could take the sauerkraut to eat myself. She gave me a folk, then she was unhappy and said I shouldn’t do it. 15 minutes later, my another son wanted to buy an honeycombs ice cream too. After we paid, she said sarcastically ‘this time you can’t take the honey out of the ice cream, huh? ’.
I told her ‘Just take it easy, why do you need to be so angry when a kid doesn’t like sauerkraut? ’. Never seen such kind of customer service. Very rude!
Decent range of ice cream, but could not try any of their options.
The staff working were extremely rude, would not visit there again.
When I asked if we could try a sample of their ice cream, the man working there replied in a very condescending tone saying "go down the road to IGA for cheaper ice cream"
I found that very offensive and that man did not apologise in any way.
There are other options on the street and even if they don't provide sample of ice cream, people working are very very nice
Very cute little ice cream shop, not a big range of flavours to choose from, I had 2 flavours in a cup (fig & almond & peanut butter & caramel - both lacking flavour) when she handed to me I thought she’d only given me one flavour as the cup was barely full (2 scoops) for $8 ~ definitely not worth it!
Poor customer service - we asked if they offer samples and the man at the front just shrugged off us and told us to go to IGA down the road, in a condescending manner. It was a very unnecessary comment to make.
In response to your comment below, that is completely incorrect. No one pushed you or your staff, we had only asked once, which is a completely normal and common practice to ask whether an ice cream store provides samples.
Secondly, the store was not busy at that time as we were the only customers. Nevertheless, your condescending response to our query for samples was completely superfluous. A simple and kind response like “no we don’t, sorry” would have sufficed. We walked down the road and went to another ice cream store and asked if they provide samples and they kindly advised us that they don’t. We did not have a problem and purchased ice cream for our entire family. I am struggling to understand why your staff needed to be rude and condescending when we’ve just simply made a harmless enquiry.
We were initially excited to try the ice cream at this place as we had come all the way from Sydney, however, the customer service and unnecessary insult is not worth trying this place.
Lady behind the counter was rude to my partner and I. We offered to pay the minimum card payment which was 6 dollars whilst the ice cream was less. We were sincere since we didn't know there was a minimum payment and we only wanted one ice cream, she had already served it. So we were happy to pay more. But she was rude, shrugged us off and continued to serve other customers. Won't be coming here, felt uncomfortable.
Lovely quality and texture ice-cream. Homemade done perfectly. The owners were friendly and extremely experienced, very friendly and lovely to talk to. As a Malaysian, my mother was very impressed with the durian ice-cream.
Overall, lovely experience and would love to visit again in the summer.
What a creamy ice cream, I tried rum and raisin and never imagine that is going to taste that good, amazing Gelato.
Nice quaint shop churning out hotdogs, ice cream and coffee at a good pace. Prices are pretty reasonable at $5 for a plain dog and $6.5 for a kransky dog.
What a wonderful little shop, we had home made icecream it was delicious and creamy they had a good choice of flavours to choose from. We went back later to have a German sausage again the lady said home made it was amazing. Highly recommended
The proprietor of this business is a PEST, he is so desperate to sell something that if you walk past his shop he jumps out in front of you and all but grabs you in a headlock trying to get you to buy. I drive tourists to Hahndorf most weekends and need to walk past this shop to get to where I am going and every weekend without fail this bloke jumps out in front of me.
He is so bad that guests hop back on the coach talking about his tactics. Surely someone who managers the shopkeepers in Hahndorf or the council can have a word to this bloke and get him to refrain from accosting visitors to this great little town because he is not doing Hahndorf any favours.
Bruno and his wife know the meaning of good old fashioned service I was going to eat next door until I bumped into Bruno out the front of his shop, stopped in for a chat and a kranski. Would definitely visit again
Having seen Durians, and signs banning them, all over Singapore, I regretted never trying one. Then, in the Aussie/German village of Handorf I got a second chance, in the form of Durian Gelati! If you like ice cream that tastes of mango and garlic, this is the flavour for you! Otherwise, have one of the more traditional flavours!
Super busy gelato shop in Hahndorf. They offer good range of flavours. However the taste and texture are not as good as other Gelato shop that I’ve tried in Sydney. Slightly overpriced and credit card charge really surprised me - 50 cents surcharge over one scoop of $5 (please correct me if my memory went wrong).
