After moving my mum to this nursing home we are very pleased with this place. They have taken her in two outings in the short time she's been there. They do more interesting activities there and you can look at photos of them on their private social media group. This place is older than the last place so things have more wear and tear, but they seem to be in good working order. The rooms are also but a bit smaller but they are still comfortable enough They also have mum some home made blankets and throws to make her room more homet. The staff are more organised and very welcoming. One thing was that the courtyards were too hot on warmer days. Maybe some shade cloth would help keep it cooler.

The standard of care in this place has become average over the past several months. I don’t find it acceptable for someone to be paying hundreds of thousands of dollars and not have their basic care needs met without family members constantly following up on things.
The new management has no real empathy for residents or family of residents.

Buildings are only brick and mortar, it's what's in the building that counts. In the case of Estia Hope Valley within that building are highly professional, well trained and compassionate staff, that makes this building a very special place for those who reside there and in particular their families who can rest being assured that their loved ones are being cared for. From the first contact with Bev she could not do enough to ensure my wife's entry into the facility was stress free, she went beyond what I expected. You are a lovely lady Bev and Dianne was very fond of you. Sandy, your smiling face greeting me and offering answers to any questions I had was invaluable, thank you, mind you, both of you could have shared your pizza or chips or other exotic lunches you had LOL. To all the nurses, care givers, cleaners, cooks and Dianne's favourite being Katerina who fussed over Dianne like a mother would. Not once was Dianne critical of the care she received, in fact everyday she would tell me how good the staff were. I speak for Dianne and know that she would have wanted me on her behalf to thank everyone within that building for making her last days so warm and comforting. I will miss all your smiling faces, thank you Katerina, Dianne said you are the hardest worker with the biggest heart. God Bless you all for doing what others may shirk away from, you are all very special people.
