Engelbrecht Cave reviews
92Easy access for young kids and adults. Short 45 min tour that does not go any great distance into the cave system. Good activity on a hot day as the cave is 16 degrees.
Interesting caves that we visited around Christmas. Booking in advance is recommended. Very easy to get to, while in Mount Gambier. Our guide Josh was knowledgeable and engaging. Kids also enjoyed the tour. We were in awe of how these limestone caves came to be. Our tour of this water-filled cave had the lucky coincidence of divers going into the lake, so that was a bonus glimpse.
Not of much interest, especially if you are not bilingual. The guide talks a lot, we just see 2 viewpoints which are nothing fantastic. Pass your turn
Great tour, good knowledge. Worth booking ahead. Lovely staff with helpful tips on what to do and see in Mt Gambier
Engelbrecht Cave never ceases to amaze me. I visit this tourist destination everytime I've visited Mt Gambier since 2023.
Cave is boring. Don't waste your time and money here. There is a much nicer cave near Tantanoola - just 30km away.
Fascinating bit of geology and history, with very knowledgeable tour guides. Cafe does good coffee as well. Just have to hope you don't have unpleasant children in your tour group ;)
An experience that most people would be happy with just a photo. The cave is a dry cave so if stalactites and stalagmites are your thing. This won’t be something you enjoy. However I would recommend coming to the cafe to drink the signituare mount gambier soft drinks that you can’t get from anywhere but tourist attractions. My finishing point is if you are a river I would recommend this because their is an extra 800 meters of cave that is underwater.
This is my first "dry limestone cave" under flat ground, so no stalagmites or tights, fascinating. Interesting and well worth visiting. Part of the underground aquifer you can see is amazing. Good idea to book if school holidays.
This is a must see. Our tour guide Tamara was so amazing. Her knowledge of the cave and the way she delivered it was really entertaining. Well done
Was a smaller attraction than I thought but it was enjoyable as it was my first time doing a cave tour. A bit expensive for what it was though.
The experience of the caves were great, I found the ladies that ran the site a bit abrupt and stern with impling of rules and requests. I understand this has to happen to preserve the cave but it felt uncomfortable and over bearing. I would suggest to book your tour otherwise you may miss out as there is a limit of each tour.
Not sure if it is worth the money, it's interesting but you don't see much and I felt the guide was rushing us too much.
Absolutely great to check out these caves, and the extremely trippy lake! Very much enjoyed this tour!
This sinkhole cave is a scam! Rude guide, staff.thinks they know all about caves and safety. The worse, pity sinkhole Cave in Australia I would say. It's more of talk than a tour. 10 min of walking on the stairs and 35 min of talking which is like a talk show. It's a waste of time and money. Very disappointed on how it was done.they don't want and video taken fine. Coz it's boring anyways. The fake cave divers are an eye sore. The only people will enjoy going there are the Cave Divers. Don't waste your time and money on this one go somewhere else like. Tantanoola Cave the guides are more professional and educated, nicer.run by parks.s. A.gov.
It's a small cave, they do regular tours for a reasonable price, tells a lot about the overall history of this place, good for one time visit.
Quite a surprise in the centre of town and a rich history of information provided by a very entertaining guide. 45mins long and a few flights of stairs. Well worth doing and some great photo opportunities.
Been to lots of caves but this one is unique. It's in limestone which makes it a dry cave and temp inside is the same all year round (I think 16 degree). The tour guide are very informative and passionate about the cave. Not to be missed
We had a really great time here! We had a guided tour from a lovely woman named Jules. She and the other staff there were so friendly and knowledgeable about the cave and its history. Highly recommend this experience.it was well worth the ticket price!
