Special fried rice was very tasty and the sweet and sour pork was on point probably one of the second best I’ve had

Heavily watered down sauces with no flavour, sweet & sour chicken was fluro pink with food colouring & watery sauce, could not tell the difference between the flavorless watery curry & equally awful satay, spicy beef had no spice, the list goes on, owner said that’s how people like it! Worst food we’ve ever had, do not waste your money.

Lovely little business with a great atmosphere and friendly service. Take away only, we were hoping to sit and enjoy, instead had to settle for sitting on the foreshore and watching the waves crash in. The food was okay. Not the best Chinese food I've ever had but certainly worthy in a country town which has little on offer besides fish and chips and big fast food chains.

We ordered a takeaway, lovely young staff member. Got home to find our prawn crackers missing. Bit disappointed as these were a paid item. Food taste 6.5 out of 10

We spent $65 on some take away and the special fried rice was boiled short grain like a Basmati or something! The Szechuan beef was Kantong from a jar with no chile. DON'T DO IT!

Called in after work for takeaway - was quick service (only about 10min wait) generous portion and very tasty (sweet n sour pork) The decor is a bit dated but the food was great. Will be back

The honey chicken is to die for, and the servings are very very generous, well worth your money. 10/10

Very tasty well made Chinese food. Will tweak the dishes if you ask them to. A pretty good and varied menu but lacking a few favourites that I would normally go for.saying that, the best Chinese restaurant within a 90k radius

DISGUSTING FOOD! Would not go again, while I was waiting for my food I had bugs crawling up my legs. Wouldn't recommend unless you have a bug fetish very dirty establishment.

Call at 5pm when they opened on hold for 3 mins 5: 03pm placed order.

Got told to come in at 6: 00pm and it will be ready.
Got there 6: 00pm and waited till 6: 30.

(Watched the fish in the aquarium swim in circles)

Got snacks and left.average food. AND FOUND A HAIR.no one in my family has hair.

Will not be going back here after this.

Placed a phone order at 5. Got told 6.30 pick up. Got there at 6.30 told had to wait another 15 mins. Went back at 6.50 told again that had to wait another 15 minutes. The only excuse they had was "it's been one of those nights".
There was absolutely no one in the restaurant and there were only 5 people waiting for takeaway when first got there at 6.30. It's now almost 7pm and there is no one else waiting.

Beautiful food, blink and you'll miss it. It's so popular make sure you expect a wait time, but I'm telling you it's worth it, especially if you order the salt and pepper squid.

New to the area and walked out after trying to order takeaway and much of the menu unavailable.terrible servoce.phone calls were more important than customers standing waiting.

I have lived in the area for over 20 years, have been to many restaurants, Emerald Restaurant is the BEST. The food is amazing! Filling, so much flavour. The staff are all lovely, thanks for being the best for so many years in our house

I read all the bad reviews prior to going to this place but I was still willing to stay open minded. Not possibly the worst Chinese meal i have ever had. Easily the worst. Bland packet food a 6 year old could heatup. Absolutely insulting to the customer.

Good quality, generous portions, fair prices. Hugely popular. After driving around Victor Harbor looking for food due to such a poor selection at McCracken Resort (Baudins closed, limited menu at the grill, not enough room to feed all the guests due to covid restrictions), we discovered the Emerald nearby. Staff friendly and helpful, the food is in huge demand, luckily we were first through the door. We are well used to Asian cuisine, this is good, but very Australianised. - Translate this as, if you are not Asian you will think this food is terrific.more used to Yum Cha and so forth, still good and definitely good value for money. The building used to be a restaurant before Covid, now only takeaway. And if you have the misfortune to be staying at McCracken, make sure to ask for cutlery with your take away food as there is only a tea cup and saucer and teaspoon to eat with back in your room at the "Resort".
