Drakes Newton Foodland

I like this Drake's! The staff at the Deli are nice and really helpful.
Crazy time over Christmas and Easter so expect a wait but with the amount of staff, you get served relatively quickly!

One of my local shops, pretty good Foodland, I buy fruit n vegetables there occasionally. They have most things I need day to day. Not as good as Norwood, Frewville, or Pasadena, but way way closer ;)
Fresh popcorn, orange juice, peanut butter, roast chickens

This store was our go to during Covid with all our online deliveries coming from Newton. Head and shoulders better than Coles online but you’ll still get the common pain points of them not sending that one thing you really needed because it was out of stock.

Having had another round of Covid recently, Drakes, once again was there to help us out and with free delivery over $200, we were pretty happy.

That said, if you read this and expect the butcher or green grocer to give you the same experience as you get in store… think again. They’ll always pick avocados which are too ripe and either not enough or way too much sirloin steak. That’s just online shopping. Otherwise, both online and in store Drakes Newton is a good bet.

Update where have the pizza ropes gone? Can never gets any messers Drake can you please explain?

This Drakes store is amazing. So many food choices. Even if you go in for 1 item you get stuck viewing the fantastic produce, the huge selection in the deli part all the salamis, continental sausage and the rest. You come out with not just your one item but many more. If you have not been, worth a look, you won't be dissapointed.

DO NOT BUY FRESH CHICKEN FROM DRAKES NEWTON Went to cook dinner tonight and had to go to Drakes as the chicken I bought yesterday stunk, this is not the first time, happens regularly, they just say sorry. IM SURE MR DRAKE WOULD NOT FEED IT TO HIS DOGS BUT IS SELLING IT TO HIS CUSTOMERS. Usually happens with chicken but also fish and frankfurts.
Managers dont care when you return the product, tonight the nightfill manager Joseph said its chicken they buy in already packed as though its out of their control, its also happened with meats from the deli in the past. They even had the nerve to charge me the difference of $1.65 for my replacement.

Sure! You get asked if you want a Bag but you don't get told that it will cost you when it is added to your bill.
I recall when throw away bags where free.
I suppose they now charge for paper bags.
When I did point out the above only to ger thobbed off by management

Drakes in Newton is a great little store open every day at quite late everyday they have a great selection of foods and Italian delicacies there is a toilet at the rear of the complex and ample parking wheelchair access it should be no problem and there's always friendly staff to help you find anything that you need

The best service of any supermarket I've ever been to. Always have enough registers open and fantastic staff.

My first time inside one of these Drakes Supermarkets, pleasantly surprised. What a great brand of stores.

Very good range of products, great smallgoods cut freshly, lots of free parking spaces, good customer service, great prices.

I always shop here and love their range. And now I love it even more knowing that you didn't mandate the jab for your employees. Legends

Depending on the timing of your visit you can get some amazing half priced meats. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Always shop to local grocers keep the money in our state apart they have a lot of S A. Stuff. Always shop there.

They have a good selection of Vegan food and Gluten free. Very friendly staff.
Well laid out, good Supermarket which is well stocked with a huge selection to choose from.
Plenty of checkouts.
PETER'S plant based Vanilla so smooth and creamy. Once you start eating it, its hard to stop.

Great specials, fresh food and nice selection of local products!
Excellent friendly service from all, especially from the fit ladies at the Deli counter!

Great supermarket. Great location and the prices are competitive. Love shopping here when I come to Adelaide.
